Science Teacher - 7th & 8th Grade

Position: Science Teacher - 7th & 8th Grade – 1.0 FTE

Job Summary:

We are seeking a full-time Science teacher to join our team at Mill Creek Middle School. The ideal candidate will have a passion for teaching Science to middle school students and will be responsible for creating a positive and engaging learning environment for our students.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Science or a related field.
• Must possess a valid Michigan Teaching Certificate.
• Must hold Secondary Teaching certification with an endorsement in Science (DX or DI).
• Experience teaching Middle School Science preferred.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to create engaging and effective lesson plans and educational materials.
• Knowledge of educational standards and best practices in teaching Science.
• Ability to work collaboratively with other teachers and staff.
• Commitment to ongoing professional development and growth

Major Duties and Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement lesson plans that align with the school's curriculum and educational standards.
• Create a positive and engaging classroom environment that promotes student learning and success.
• Assess student learning and progress through assignments, tests, and other forms of evaluation.
• Provide feedback to students and parents on student progress and areas for improvement.
• Collaborate with other teachers and staff to create a cohesive and effective educational experience for students.
• Participate in professional development opportunities to enhance teaching skills and knowledge.
• Communicate effectively with students, parents, and staff regarding educational goals and student progress
• Responsibility of employee to obtain and maintain all training(s), certificate(s), approval(s), etc. and provide documentation to the Human Resource office before expiration date of said document(s).
