Paid Student Intern - Fall 2026/Spring 2027

Salary Hourly rate: $20.00 Commitment This position requires a 4‑month commitment with an opportunity to extend, if eligible. Some divisions may prefer a commitment longer than 4 months. Hours This position is limited to a maximum of 35 hours per week, not to exceed 944 hours in a fiscal year. Internship Requirements Interns would be required to work a minimum of 10 hours per week if selected for Probation or Criminal Pre‑Trial Services. Interns are not eligible for remote work. Regular and predictable physical presence at the worksite is an essential function of this position. Responsibilities Assist with answering phones, returning phone calls, and receiving and distributing voicemails Contact and follow up with applicants and/or members of the public Perform special projects Conduct research and analysis Perform computer‑related work Collect and enter data Provide customer service Draft correspondences and memos Attend community planning meetings Organize and scan paper files; upload into an electronic filing system Assist staff and perform other duties as directed Regular and predictable physical presence at the worksite is an essential function of this position Qualifications Require at least thirty credit hours from an accredited college or university pursuing a degree in the Behavioral or Social Sciences or a related field Unofficial college or university transcript must be included in the application Physical ability: must be able to climb, stand, stretch, bend and reach; lift and carry 30–50 pounds frequently and occasionally up to 75 pounds Driver's license: required only if vehicle operation is necessary for essential duties Authorization to work: must be authorized to work in the US in accordance with Department of Homeland Security regulations; US citizenship not required Background check including fingerprinting will be required for all newly hired employees Residency: must establish and maintain a principal residence in New Jersey within one year of hire under state law, unless an exemption is granted Equal Opportunity The Judiciary of New Jersey is an Equal Opportunity/Affirmative Action Employer committed to ensuring an open door to justice. #J-18808-Ljbffr New Jersey Courts
