Technician

Location and Employment Location: 6800 Kickman, Suite 7, Windsor Heights, IA, 50324, United States Employee Type: Full-time, Non-Exempt Required Degree: High school diploma Overview The position is responsible for providing quality carpet & upholstery cleaning, hard floor restoration, and water extraction services to commercial clients. This is a night position scheduled approximately 5:00 PM to 1:00 AM, and also requires weekend work. Accountabilities and Responsibilities Fosters a consistent flow of communication with clients, technicians, and management. Ensures all work is completed per work order instructions and captures proper time and notes. Guarantees scheduled jobs are completed within budgeted hours or better. Uses proactive and creative approaches to resolve challenges. Accurately performs all cleaning (restorative/maintenance) methods for carpet, furniture, and wall panels, including upholstery, fabric, and leather. Accurately performs cleaning methods for hard surfaces such as ceramic, porcelain, and stone. Accurately performs water damage restoration. Completes work order paperwork, takes before/after pictures for each job, and notifies supervisor of any special circumstances. Maintains a safe work area, using caution signs and barriers. Drives company vehicles to and from client locations. Ensures care and cleanliness of cleaning equipment and vehicles. Reports to work on time and in proper uniform. Pursues IICRC certifications in commercial carpet, upholstery, water restoration, and ceramic tile. Follows rules, policies, and regulations as outlined in the company handbook. Maintains a consistent state of alertness and safety in all duties. Communicates issues, concerns, and questions to supervisor. Physical demands: standing, walking, frequent manual handling up to 50 pounds, occasional climbing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawling. Expected Results Effectively accomplish assigned work orders and efficiently coordinate resources to address needs. Provide timely and effective response to team needs. Ensure consistent, accurate communication and alignment of efforts within the team. Obtain IICRC certifications in Carpet, Upholstery, Water Restoration, and Hard Floors. Adhere to all policies and procedures. Educational Requirements High School Diploma or GED required. IICRC certifications desired but not mandatory. Experience Requirements One year of experience and/or training desirable but not mandatory. Demonstrated ability to work as a team. Demonstrated ability to learn and utilize new skills. Proficient Microsoft Office skills desired; photo‑taking skills a plus. Professional personal presentation. High level of interpersonal skills to handle sensitive and confidential situations. Valid driver’s license required. Ability to handle changing priorities and achieve desired objectives. Ability to communicate verbally and in writing to all levels of the company and clients. Ability to maintain poise, tact, and diplomacy. Ability to work nights and weekends and adjust schedule to meet business needs. Additional Information This role requires night shifts and weekend availability.
