Surgical Center Preoperative Registered Nurse

Assignment Duration

This is a 13-week contract position.

Schedule

4 10-hour shifts or 3 12-hour shifts with participation in weekend rotation and on-call schedule. Shifts may include midnights and holidays based on departmental needs.

Job Description

The Surgical Center Preoperative Registered Nurse will be responsible for providing preoperative care in a surgical center environment. This includes overseeing patient preparation, assisting with procedures, and delivering high-quality patient care. The role requires expertise in surgical care, including scrubbing and robotics, as well as proficiency in IV skills and care management.

Responsibilities

• Provide preoperative care to patients, ensuring their safety and comfort.
• Assist in surgical procedures, including scrubbing and managing surgical instruments.
• Perform patient assessments and prepare patients for surgery.
• Administer medications and monitor patient vitals as required.
• Collaborate with the surgical team to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
• Participate in the weekend rotation and on-call schedule as directed.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Must hold a valid RN license.
• BLS certification required.
• Experience with surgical care and robotics is essential.
• Strong IV skills and knowledge of preoperative care practices.
• Familiarity with Allscripts EMR and upcoming EPIC go-live.
