Under the general supervision of the Director of Events, the Multimedia Specialist serves as the primary creative production resource for the Allegheny County Airport Authority’s Communications & Brand Department, responsible for conceiving, designing, and producing high-quality multimedia content that advances the Authority’s communications, marketing, employee engagement, and brand storytelling objectives. This versatile visual communicator emphasizes video production, supported by advanced graphic design skills and working knowledge of photography, creating engaging content across digital, social media, web, internal communications, presentations, and marketing channels. The role works closely with the Social Media Manager to execute platform‑optimized video and visual content, supports the organization’s Digital Asset Management system by organizing, tagging, and maintaining creative assets per governance standards, and provides limited event logistics and administrative coordination to ensure smooth execution of Communications & Brand initiatives. Here is how the Multimedia Specialist will help: Serve as the primary video production resource for Communications & Brand, overseeing concept development, planning, filming, editing, and final delivery across multiple channels. Produce engaging multimedia content for internal and external communications, executive messaging, marketing campaigns, websites, Blue Sky News, and media distribution. Create short‑form and real‑time social media video optimized for platforms including Instagram, Facebook, X, YouTube, and LinkedIn. Develop motion graphics, animations, title sequences, and other visual enhancements that strengthen storytelling. Design high‑quality graphic assets for digital, print, presentations, signage, advertising, email campaigns, and social media. Ensure all video and graphic outputs align with brand standards and visual identity guidelines. Partner with internal departments to identify visual storytelling opportunities and translate complex topics into compelling multimedia content. Capture and edit photography and video for airport events, inaugurals, executive engagements, media opportunities, and community activities. Support live event production, including video coverage, presentation support, multimedia display content, and real‑time content creation. Collaborate with Communications & Brand team members on integrated campaigns across internal communications, marketing, PR, and social media. Maintain, organize, and manage digital assets in the DAM system, ensuring proper tagging, categorization, and governance compliance. Support DAM best practices and train team members on uploading, tagging, categorizing, searching, and retrieving assets. Assist with maintenance and organization of multimedia production equipment and provide limited logistical and administrative event support. Serve on the Communications & Brand crisis communications response team and perform other related tasks as assigned including timely and effective multimedia content under tight deadlines. Qualifications and Requirements Bachelor’s degree in Graphic Design, Multimedia Design, Visual Communications, Digital Media, Marketing, Communications, Journalism, Broadcast Media, or a related field. Two to four years of professional experience in multimedia production, graphic design, video production, digital storytelling, or related creative fields. Proven ability to produce high‑quality graphic and video content for digital, print, web, presentations, and social media. Advanced proficiency in Adobe Creative Cloud, including Premiere Pro, After Effects, Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign. Experience managing creative projects from concept through delivery while balancing multiple priorities and deadlines. Skilled in producing and optimizing video content for social media, including short‑form and platform‑specific formats. Ability to develop creative assets that maintain brand consistency across multiple communication channels. Working knowledge of photography, including camera operation and image editing. Experience with Digital Asset Management systems and creating motion graphics or animations using After Effects or similar tools (preferred). Ability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed, and possess or obtain a valid Pennsylvania Class C driver’s license. Additional Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Strong storytelling ability with skill in translating complex information into clear, engaging visual narratives across multiple formats. Proven capability to produce integrated multimedia content combining video production, graphic design, and digital storytelling. Advanced expertise in professional video production, including concept development, scripting, storyboarding, camera operation, lighting, audio, directing, editing, and post‑production. Advanced proficiency in Adobe Creative Cloud applications, including Premiere Pro, After Effects, Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, and Lightroom. Strong graphic design skills in typography, layout, composition, branding, and visual hierarchy for digital and print. Ability to design high‑quality visual assets for social media, presentations, websites, marketing materials, signage, and internal communications. Strong understanding of motion graphics and animation principles to create dynamic visual elements. Demonstrated ability to create and optimize platform‑specific social media video, including short‑form vertical content. Solid understanding of social media trends, audience engagement strategies, and best practices for digital content distribution. Ability to execute creative assignments under the strategic direction of the Social Media Manager while maintaining brand alignment. Working knowledge of photography and photo editing to support event coverage. Knowledge of Digital Asset Management systems and demonstrated ability to organize, tag, archive, and retrieve digital assets according to governance standards. Ability to incorporate feedback, adapt creative work, and meet deadlines while managing multiple projects. Strong communication, collaboration, and project management skills with the ability to work independently or in team environments. Strong attention to detail, adaptability to changing priorities or crisis needs, proficiency in Microsoft Office, familiarity with CMS tools, and willingness to work nonstandard hours as needed. Conditions While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to fumes and outdoor weather conditions for airfield work. The employee is regularly exposed to a moderate noise level in the office work environment and is occasionally exposed to very loud noise level when giving tours and media escorting on the airfield. The employee is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions or outside weather conditions. Subject to remain on duty beyond normal hours or be recalled to duty up to 24 hours per day, seven days a week during emergency situations or other extensive periods. When HRA funding is included, the health‑plan deductibles paid by ACAA employees are about $1,200 lower on average than the costs paid by employees of other companies. ACAA does not require that employees meet a separate deductible for pharmacy expenses before prescription‑drug coverage kicks in. ACAA’s dental plans (included with healthcare coverage) offer an option covering children’s orthodontia.
