Lead APP (NP/PA) – ENT Surgery – Full Time (United States) Location: Stanford Health Care As a Lead Advanced Practice Professional, you will supervise a minimum of 10 APPs and provide clinical, administrative, and regulatory leadership within the ENT Surgery service line. What you will do Co‑direct clinical, operational, and administrative initiatives of the service line with the Medical Director and unit nursing management team. Conduct regularly scheduled meetings with APP staff, ensuring clinical competency and adherence to policy through practice analysis and case review with physicians. Investigate and respond to patient/family complaints, and orient new staff APPs while providing ongoing education. Represent the service line on hospital‑wide committees and professional evaluation committees; ensure completion of operational mandates such as C‑I‑CARE rounds. Administration Review and participate in financial planning and issues for the service. Participate in hiring, evaluation, coaching, mentoring, and discipline of APP staff. Investigate and resolve operational issues; coordinate quality improvement and process improvement programs. Provide 24‑hour administrative on‑call coverage and coordinate APP scheduling. Internal and External Legal/Regulatory Issues Ensure compliance with Medical Staff Services initiatives, policies, and procedures. Advocate for practice models that allow clinicians to practice within the fullest scope of their practice. Participate in regional and national discussions affecting APP practice; collaborate with hospital operations on funding, billing, and reimbursement models. Engage in legislative and health policy issues affecting advanced practice. Education Qualifications Advanced Practice Nurse: Master’s or Doctorate Degree in Nursing or another healthcare‑related field from an accredited university. Physician Assistant: Bachelor’s degree in Science, Physician Assistant Studies, or another healthcare‑related field from an accredited university. Experience Qualifications Minimum of 1 year experience as a licensed advanced practice provider (Physician Assistant, Nurse Practitioner, Clinical Nurse Specialist, or Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist). Three years of APP experience preferred. Management experience preferred. Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Knowledge of management principles such as employee hiring, evaluation, counseling, termination, budgeting, and rewards. Experience with practice evaluation, process improvement, and national professional and regulatory initiatives. Clinical competence and in‑depth knowledge of specialty practice. Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing, and to establish relationships with diverse groups across the organization. Ability to plan, organize, prioritize, work independently, and meet deadlines. Ability to foster a culture of inquiry, evidence‑based practice, and innovation in patient care. Licenses and Certifications State licensure as a Physician Assistant or Registered Nurse. Advanced practice nursing license in California (NP, CNS, or CRNA) with current national certification. Compensation Base Pay Scale: Generally starting at $100.03 - $132.51 per hour.
