Practice Manager - Finance
Compensation: $137,000 - $260,000 annually (depending on location)
Location: Any U.S. Office - San Francisco, Los Angeles, Santa Monica, etc.
Schedule: Hybrid (3 days per week in office)

LHH is partnering with a leading Am Law firm to recruit a Practice Manager, Finance . This strategic role supports the Finance Business Unit by overseeing attorney staffing, utilization, professional development, and practice operations. The Practice Manager will work closely with firm leadership to drive operational efficiency, optimize resource allocation, and support the group's financial and talent objectives.
Key Responsibilities

Attorney Staffing & Professional Development

• Manage associate staffing, work allocation, and utilization across the Finance practice.
  
• Monitor attorney availability, productivity, and utilization metrics.
  
• Support associates' professional development goals and identify training resources.
  
• Partner with practice leaders on staffing needs, hiring plans, and workforce planning.
  
• Facilitate onboarding and integration of new attorneys.
  
• Coordinate mentoring programs and professional development initiatives.
  
• Collaborate with innovation and support teams to align resources efficiently across matters.
  

Practice Operations & Financial Management

• Partner with practice leaders to improve profitability and operational performance.
  
• Analyze financial and utilization data, including productivity, billing, collections, and profitability metrics.
  
• Support strategic initiatives through business analysis and reporting.
  
• Assist with practice communications and administrative functions.
  
• Coordinate attorney transitions and departures as needed.
  

Qualifications

• J.D. strongly preferred; MBA or equivalent professional experience considered.
  
• Minimum 5 years of experience practicing law in a large law firm or corporate legal department strongly preferred.
  
• Experience in finance-related legal practices preferred.
  
• Prior law firm practice management or professional services management experience is a plus.
  
• Strong project management, analytical, and organizational skills.
  
• Ability to collaborate effectively with attorneys, leadership, and business professionals.
  
• Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office and data analysis tools.
  
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  
• Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
  

Compensation

Salary ranges vary by location:

• New York City, Silicon Valley, San Francisco: $162,000 - $260,000
  
• Los Angeles, Orange County, Santa Monica, Sacramento, Washington DC, Boston, Seattle: $162,000 - $250,000
  
• All Other U.S. Locations: $137,000 - $240,000
