Manufacturing Engineer II

POSITION SUMMARYThe Manufacturing Engineer II performs complex functions in the design, fabrication, modification and/or evaluation of manufacturing operations. Prepares complicated plans, conducts support studies, and provides analysis or tests in the development of manufacturing operations. Responsibilities are diverse in scope where analysis of situations or data requires sound technical judgment. Utilizes lean manufacturing to reduce cost and cycle time.JOB RESPONSIBILITIESResolves complex engineering problems by collecting and analyzing information; researching, analyzing, adapting, and modifying engineering techniques; recommending solutions; reviewing drawings, schematics, and diagrams; evaluating installations, components, materials, and suppliers; resolving design integration issues; developing specifications and safety standardsStrong lean manufacturing skill set and knowledge with experience implementing lean methodologies/toolsHigh level of experience establishing labor standards, line balancing, and factory layouts to improve material flow and labor efficiencies to meet Safety, Quality, Delivery, and Cost targetsElectrical Engineers - Evaluates electrical systems, avionics, products, components and applications applying knowledge of electricity and materialsDevelops manufacturing processes by designing and modifying equipment and practices; soliciting observations of stakeholders and application of Lean Manufacturing techniquesAssures compliance with all applicable specs and regulationsESSENTIAL KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIESEducation and Experience: Bachelor’s Degree – Engineering Advanced Engineering Degree, Six Sigma – Black Belt Certification, and A&P Certification, preferred10+ Years aircraft manufacturing/maintenance/repair experience or equivocal combination of education and work experienceKnowledge: Excellent at analyzing, interpreting and resolving complex informationAnalytical and statistical toolsStrong attention to detailSkills:Proficiency with planning practices and toolsProficient in Lotus Notes, Internet Explorer, Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, & Power Point), MES, CATIA, & SAPStrong organizational skills Strong verbal and written communication skillsPresentation skillsUtilization of Lean Production conceptsAbilities:Systemic visionData analysis and consolidationCope with deadlines and pressured situationsInteract with senior management, staff, and production/technical staffWorking Conditions / Environment/Special RequirementsAbility to work in a safe professional manner adhering to all regulatory requirements including, OSHA, EPA, State and Federal regulations.Ability to work flexible hours and different shifts if requiredEmployees will be subject to the random drug and alcohol testing under FAA regulationsGENERAL COMMITMENT FOR ALL EMPLOYEESAuthorized to work in the U.S.Foreign travel may be required - ability to obtain a passport and a Brazilian visaPerforms duties as assignedProactive thinkerCommitment to company values and complies with department norms, policies, directives, and proceduresIncorporates Lean and P3E processes and concepts into daily activitiesStrive for continuous improvement to processes and proceduresHonors and protects confidential and proprietary documents and informationSatisfies work schedule requirementsThe job description is not designed to cover or contain a comprehensive listing of all activities, duties or responsibilities that are required by the employee.Embraer is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
