Job Title: Mechanical Assembler - 6am to 2:30pm M-F

Job Description

The Cleanroom Assembler builds complex electro-mechanical products in a cleanroom, climate-controlled environment. In this role, you follow detailed prints and drawings to perform mechanical and electrical assembly at a bench station, meet daily build quantity goals, and verify quality using precision inspection instruments and gauges.

Responsibilities

• Meet assigned daily product build and quantity goals while maintaining high quality standards.
• Perform mechanical and electrical assembly at a bench station using provided parts, tools, and equipment.
• Access and interpret prints and drawings on a computer to follow detailed assembly instructions.
• Complete mechanical assembly tasks including installing screws, bolts, framing, housings, and other hardware components.
• Perform electrical assembly by laying in wires, making connections, and ensuring proper routing and organization.
• Use hand and power tools such as impact drivers, manual and electric screwdrivers, and T-handle Allen wrenches (ball head and flat head) to complete assemblies.
• Read and apply information from assembly drawings, prints, and documentation to ensure accurate builds.
• Utilize quality inspection instruments including calipers, micrometers, height gauges, and thread gauges to check build tolerances and dimensions.
• Work with metric and standard tape measures to verify measurements and component placement.
• Ensure assemblies meet tight tolerance requirements, including .03 micron tolerances where applicable.
• Maintain cleanroom standards and follow all procedures to preserve a controlled and contamination-free environment.
• Collaborate with a team of assemblers and support staff to complete production goals and resolve assembly issues.
• Follow safety guidelines and proper tool handling practices to maintain a safe work area.
• Document work as required and communicate any quality or design concerns to appropriate personnel.

Essential Skills

• 3–5 years of technical assembly experience involving full electromechanical builds.
• 3–5 years of experience reading and interpreting assembly drawings and prints.
• 3–5 years of experience using hand and power tools, including impact drivers, manual and electric screwdrivers, and T-handle Allen wrenches (ball head and flat head).
• 3–5 years of experience reading metric and standard tape measures for precise measurement.
• 3–5 years of experience using precision measuring tools such as calipers and micrometers.
• Experience working in a cleanroom environment and following cleanroom protocols.
• Experience with height gauges, thread gauges, or similar quality inspection instruments.
• Ability to work with and maintain .03 micron tolerance in assemblies.
• Strong mechanical and electrical assembly skills, including working with screws, bolts, framing, housings, wires, and connections.
• Ability to follow detailed instructions and engineering documentation using computer-based drawings and prints.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Background in cleanroom manufacturing or assembly for complex electro-mechanical products.
• Familiarity with quality control practices and dimensional inspection in a production environment.
• Comfort working in a climate-controlled facility with a structured shift schedule.
• Ability to collaborate effectively within a team of approximately 14–16 people.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to meeting tight tolerance and quality requirements.

Work Environment

This role is based in a cleanroom, climate-controlled manufacturing environment that produces complex electro-mechanical assemblies for advanced applications, including military robotics, microchips for medical use, and custom machined components. The position operates on a first shift schedule from 6:00 AM to 2:30 PM, Monday through Friday, with optional overtime available. You work as part of a team of approximately 14–16 people, using a variety of hand and power tools, precision measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, height gauges, and thread gauges, as well as computer-based drawings and prints at your bench station. Dress code includes closed-toe shoes, jeans, and T-shirts, supporting a practical and comfortable work setting while maintaining appropriate safety and cleanroom standards.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Dayton, OH.

The pay range for this position is $19.00 - $21.85/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
