Job Description The Regeneration Operator 3 position is a multifaceted role responsible for mobile equipment regeneration, facility-wide water management, and team leadership. This role demands advanced proficiency in chemical handling, resin regeneration techniques, wastewater operations, and water balancing across the facility. The operator oversees the entire resin handling process, including unloading and reloading onto various mobile equipment, and supervises resin regenerations, wastewater treatment procedures, and the maintenance of optimal water levels throughout the site. Additionally, Regeneration Operator 3 is expected to act as a backup shift lead, demonstrating strong leadership skills and a thorough understanding of all facility functions, such as dock operations, quality control protocols, and adherence to regulatory requirements. Key Characteristics Adherence to Safety Protocols: Strictly follow all safety protocols, including PPE usage, lockout/tagout, confined space entry, and chemical handling. Communication Skills: Clear and effective communication with team members and supervisors. Ability to handle multiple tasks and prioritize workload and production. Problem-Solving Abilities: Capability to identify and resolve equipment issues or process deviations. High-quality decisions in this role require analyzing data, anticipating outcomes, and balancing expertise with experience. Making strong choices improves efficiency, reduces risk, and supports success while prioritizing safety, quality, and productivity. Quality Focus: Final quality inspections are performed before shipment to verify all specifications are met and products are ready for delivery. Managing Conflict: When direct supervision is unavailable, the Regeneration Operator 3 serving as Shift Lead is responsible for resolving team conflicts and must use strong interpersonal and leadership skills to keep the work environment productive and harmonious. Attention to Detail: Completes checklists, performs quality control checks, and follows procedures with attention to detail. Reliability: Consistent performance and dependability in completing assigned tasks. Organization: Maintaining an orderly production area and systematic approach to tasks. Duties & Responsibilities Effective shift safety compliance means following protocols, using PPE, keeping the area clean, and ensuring all staff, visitors, and contractors do the same. Scheduling shifts. Operating and monitoring regeneration equipment. Managing resin unloading and loading. Maintaining equipment parameters during startups and shutdowns. Responsible for managing the day-to-day operations of the shift. Prepares and maintains accurate records and paperwork. Develop standard operating procedures. Facilitate information exchange during shift changes. Completes Quality Control documentation in SAP. Achieve Ion Exchange Key Performance Indicators (KPIs). Contribute to overall KPIs related to: Volume Hours Production Cost Chemical usage Quality (escaping defects) Need to Notify (NTN) notifications Collaborates with the maintenance team on plant and fleet maintenance, including NTNs. Oversees quality control by mentoring and training shift members on procedures. Regularly checks equipment, resin quality, and process effectiveness, testing pH, conductivity/resistivity, silica, and TDS. Maintains and orders critical production chemicals. Responsible for daily reporting, checking that all documentation is accurate and work has been performed within specifications. Serve as backup production supervisor when required, leading the team, coordinating tasks, making decisions, and meeting shift goals. Conducts final quality inspections, encompassing both physical and documentation reviews, prior to shipment to ensure adherence to customer specifications. Lead shift change meetings, share EHS moments, and update equipment readiness. Communicate with supervisors and team members, and join team meetings. Participates in training and stays updated on industry best practices to contribute to continuous improvement by suggesting and helping implement process enhancements. Assigning designated equipment to orders based on customer requirements and equipment specifications. Other duties as assigned. Qualifications Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Full comprehensive understanding and execution of facility operations including dock operations, wastewater management, water balancing, quality control procedures, and resin regeneration processes. Proficiency in Microsoft Suite or Google Workspaces. Advanced knowledge of SAP. Frontline leadership/supervisor skills. Strong Communication. Mechanical and Technical Aptitude. Strong understanding of Ion Exchange water treatment technology. Safety Tools and Systems (Gensuite, LOTO, permitting, emergency response plan). Preferred Operate Forklift as needed. Certification in basic Field Training course. Education & Experience Required HS Diploma, GED or equivalent. At least 6 years of experience in a comparable manufacturing and industrial environment involving material and chemical handling. Experience in leading a project or initiative. ISO 9001 knowledge and experience with auditing programs. Preferred HS Chemistry knowledge. Experience in a high-volume, fast-paced environment. Manufacturing safety and OSHA regulations. Working Conditions Night Shift from 10pm to 6am (with some flexibility). Must be available on weekends. Ability and willingness to work in various weather conditions (indoor / outdoor). Ability and willingness to perform physical duties such as lifting to 50 pounds, climbing, working at elevated heights, and manual dexterity. Ability and willingness to work in industrial facilities, manufacturing facilities, and power industry facilities. Ability and willingness to travel for installation and repair if needed. Ability and willingness to work holidays and weekends based on business demand. Ability to coach, mentor, and train new employees. Lead a team in an industrial environment.
