CNC Programmer

CNC Set Up/Programmer IIICadrex is searching for a CNC Set Up/Programmer III to set up, program utilizing CAD/CAM software, and operate conventional, special purpose, and CNC Machining Centers to ready machines to fabricate metallic and nonmetallic parts. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background, exceptional problem-solving skills, and a proven track record of delivering high-quality machined parts in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.Key ResponsibilitiesSet up and operate CNC machines for production runs, including selecting tooling, loading materials, and securing workpiecesInterpret engineering drawings, models, and specifications to develop CNC programs for milling, turning, drilling, and other machining operationsProgram CNC machines using CAD/CAM software (e.g., Mastercam, GibbsCAM) to generate toolpaths, optimize machining sequences, and maximize efficiencyConduct test runs and verify program accuracy by performing trial cuts and measurements on sample workpiecesLead and coordinate machining projects, including scheduling, resource allocation, and communication with stakeholdersMonitor machining processes and make adjustments as needed to ensure quality, accuracy, and adherence to production schedulesTroubleshoot complex machining issues and develop innovative solutions to optimize performance.Collaborate with engineering, production, and quality control teams to identify opportunities for process improvement and optimizationTrain and mentor junior CNC operators and programmers on advanced setup and programming techniquesPerform routine maintenance on CNC machines, including cleaning, lubricating, and replacing worn or damaged componentsAdhere to safety protocols and procedures at all times, including proper handling and operation of CNC machines and equipmentPreferred Qualifications5+ years of experience setting up and programming CNC machines in a manufacturing environment preferredExpertise in CNC programming languages, such as G-code and M-code, and proficiency in CAD/CAM softwareStrong knowledge of machining processes, tooling, materials, and surface finishesAbility to interpret complex engineering drawings, models, and technical specificationsExceptional problem-solving skills and ability to troubleshoot complex machining issues and optimize CNC programsStrong attention to detail and ability to work with precision and accuracyEffective communication and leadership skills, with the ability to lead and coordinate machining projectsCommitment to safety and adherence to company policies and proceduresEducationBachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or related field preferred2-year technical certification and equivalent experience may be substituted in lieu of degreeLocationOnsiteScheduleM-FWork EnvironmentWhile performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to work near moving mechanical parts and vibration.
