Medical Laboratory Technician - Float

Perform and report tests of all complexity levels, as defined by CLIA, on patients of all ages Assist with routine screening, diagnosis, treatment, and management of diseases and injuries Interpret and correlate test results with disease states and theoretical knowledge (MLS) Exhibit complex or highly complex problem-solving skills Participate in Quality Assurance and Quality Control monitoring Maintain and troubleshoot instrumentation Process specimens and perform phlebotomy as needed Provide customer service Participate in research, development, education, and technical consultation (MLS) Requirements MLT: Graduate of an associate degree in Medical Laboratory Technician, or meet CLIA guidelines for the complexity of laboratory testing through an alternative route MLS: Graduate of a four-year degree in Clinical Laboratory Science, or MLT (ASCP) certified with additional clinical laboratory semester-hour equivalents, 2 years of full-time lab experience, and MLS (ASCP) certification MLT certification from the American Society of Clinical Pathology (ASCP) or equivalent certification required within one year of hire MLS certification from the American Society of Clinical Pathology (ASCP) required within one year of hire Perform testing according to CLIA complexity requirements Availability for day rotation, occasional weekends, holidays, and call obligation Successful completion of post-offer screenings Verification of legal right to work in the United States Verification of applicable licensure, certifications, education, and experience Background checks, including criminal check, urine drug screen, and MVR where required Health screening and immunization review Core Competencies Demonstrates expertise in performing and reporting laboratory tests across all complexity levels, with a strong focus on quality assurance, instrumentation maintenance, and effective problem-solving. Holds necessary certifications and possesses the ability to interpret test results in relation to disease states.
