Job Summary

Intensive Care Unit Medical (ICU MEDICAL) nurse needed for a high-acuity unit located at the hospital. This role involves providing care to critically ill patients, including those with respiratory failure, sepsis, end-stage liver disease, and renal failure, with a focus on managing complex cases and working in a fast-paced environment.

Job Details

• Location: Not specified (hospital setting)
• Schedule: Nights, 12-hour shifts, minimum of 48 hours per week
• Required Certifications: Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), Basic Life Support (BLS), NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS)
• Education and Experience Requirements: Current experience in a high-acuity intensive care unit (ICU); minimum of 2 years of relevant experience preferred
• Certifications/Skills: ACLS, BLS; familiarity with ventilators (Hamilton Vent, BiPap), NxStage CRRT, and bedside monitoring systems
• Additional Information: Expectation of floating within the unit, flexibility for changing assignments based on acuity, and adherence to unit-specific procedures including CLABSI, HAPI, and CAUTI documentation. Candidates should be comfortable managing titratable drips like Levo, Epi, Dopa, and sedatives such as Propofol, Dilaudid, Ketamine, and Versed. Experience with CRRT utilizing NxStage device is preferred.
