Data Product Manager

Job Description

Day-to-day:

Lead the bank's data product initiatives supporting a major enterprise data transformation effort, including completion of the first phase of data centralization and the creation of scalable, business-focused data products. Partner closely with business leaders, data owners, stewards, compliance teams, architects, engineers, and analysts to gather requirements, translate business needs into technical specifications, and drive delivery across multiple data domains and intake streams. Help define and execute the data product roadmap, backlog, and release strategy while ensuring data lineage, definitions, mappings, controls, and governance requirements are documented and maintained. Collaborate on the development of semantic-layer-driven solutions, oversee integration of data from multiple source systems, and ensure products are reliable, secure, compliant, and aligned with evolving data governance standards. Monitor KPIs and product performance, communicate updates and priorities to stakeholders, present complex technical concepts to non-technical audiences, and serve as a trusted advisor who can challenge existing approaches, recommend better solutions, and drive accountability across cross-functional teams.

Skills and Requirements

Must-haves:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Data Science, MIS, Business Administration, or related field (or equivalent experience)

• 6+ years of experience in data governance, product management, business analysis, data engineering, data science, or related field

• 3+ years specifically focused on data products or data-driven initiatives

• Strong banking/financial services industry experience

• Experience translating business requirements into technical and data requirements

• Experience partnering with compliance, governance, architecture, and business teams

• Strong understanding of data architecture, data integration, and modern data platforms

• Experience with Snowflake and/or Databricks

• Experience with Power BI and/or Tableau

• SQL, data modeling, and ETL experience

• Cloud platform experience (AWS and/or Azure)

Experience documenting data lineage, definitions, mappings, and controls Plusses:

• Experience within banking products, deposits, lending, payments, card services, fraud, or customer processing

• Experience building or advancing a data office, governance function, or enterprise data program

• Experience creating semantic layers and product-based data frameworks

• Experience supporting large-scale data centralization initiatives

• Experience developing data product roadmaps and rollout strategies

• Experience designing frameworks, processes, and KPIs for data organizations

• Experience helping organizations mature their data governance capabilities
