Engineering Technician

Southern Engineering & Testing / Certerra has an immediate opening for a full-time mid-level Construction Materials Testing (CMT) Inspector in Greensboro, North Carolina. The position is best suited for someone interested in working in a fast-paced consultant environment, does not mind some travel, and capable of effectively working as part of a collaborative team. Duties/Responsibilities Field and laboratory testing of construction materials. Maintaining required certifications (ACI, ICC, NCDOT) Coordinating with clients and Project Managers. Travel to client facilities as needed Report writing and computer skills Provides clear documentation of findings and results. Performs basic analysis of data to verify accuracy before communication and submittal to the Project Manager. Communicates information to Project Manager and other personnel as directed by the PM. Assists higher level technicians on complex tasks. Maintains assigned equipment and related calibration. Follows safety rules and practices and other safety requirements for all projects. Be responsible for maintaining quality standards on all projects. Education/Qualifications 2-5+ years of construction materials testing experience ICC certifications (preferred) State DOT certifications (preferred) A strong safety focus and attention to detail Excellent plan reading skills A demonstrated math and technical aptitude Flexibility to work extended or non-traditional hours as needed Excellent Verbal and written communication skills A High School diploma or equivalent A valid driver’s license Physical Requirements Ability to perform physical tasks such as lifting, standing, and walking on uneven ground on construction sites.
