Description: Unit includes three suites for catheterization and interventional radiology procedures. The average number of cases per day is between eight and ten. The role involves procedure setup, circulating during procedures, administering sedation, and monitoring patients throughout. The nurse will be responsible for hemodynamic monitoring, which occurs in a control room. The control room provides visibility of the patients through a window, but the nurse will need to float between the procedure room and control room. Experience in both cardiac catheterization and interventional radiology is essential for success in this position. Evening call is required one to two times per week, starting after day shift ends. Weekend call is required one to two weekends per month, with a 24-hour call period. Holiday call entails one major and one minor holiday commitment. The Cath Lab operates with a three-person team, requiring flexibility in responsibilities. Unit orientation may last up to two weeks, and participation in the call rotation begins after the third week.
