Candidates must provide current supervisory references. Candidates must have proof of required certifications. Candidates must pass clinical review. Candidates must circulate and provide newborn care, including eye care and vitamin K injections. Description: We are seeking a Registered Nurse for the Labor and Delivery unit. This position requires working in a high-risk and high-volume labor and delivery setting. Candidates must have high-risk experience. The nurse will function in the role of Baby Nurse during delivery and will continue care of the newborn until transfer to postpartum. Experience with electronic fetal monitoring is essential. The daily average census is approximately 15 patients, with 500-600 deliveries per month. The unit consists of 31 rooms and beds. Nurses are expected to work every other weekend and holidays as needed. Floating to postpartum and antepartum may be required. Staffing follows specific guidelines to ensure patient safety and quality care. Candidates should have experience with a variety of patient diagnoses, including midwifery clients and those requiring substance recovery support. The role involves performing various nursing skills, such as assisting with high-risk deliveries, neonatal assessments, and managing medication therapy. Candidates should be able to work effectively in fast-paced and high-acuity environments. Pre-approved time off will be considered on a case-by-case basis. This position involves collaboration with interdisciplinary teams to ensure comprehensive patient care. Nurses are expected to handle special procedures and provide support for multiple birth situations. Candidates must demonstrate competence in various nursing competencies listed in the job description.
