Job Title: Household Manager & Family Assistant (With Childcare and Meal Prep Support)

Location: Kansas City Northland, MO — anticipated Liberty / 64157 area, north of the Missouri River

Employment Type: Part-time, 16–20 hours/week (16 hours/week guaranteed)

Schedule: Monday–Thursday, approximately 9:00 a.m.–1:00 p.m. (some flexibility)

Additional hours for date nights and special projects as needed with advance notice

Compensation: $30–$35/hour

Start Date: Early November 2026 (timing flexible based on family's move to the Kansas City area)

About Our Family

We're a calm, laid-back family preparing for an exciting move to the Kansas City Northland area. While our exact home location is still being finalized, we anticipate settling in or near Liberty / the 64157 area, north of the Missouri River.

With a curious, energetic toddler and a new baby on the way, our days are full of movement. We both work asynchronous schedules, often from home, which means things can easily pile up or get pushed off. We're looking for steady support to help our household run smoothly as we settle into our new home and community.

We're flexible and appreciate someone who can meet us where we are — we will do the same for you. What matters most to us is finding someone who's proactive, kind, and comfortable rolling with our rhythm. We want our evenings to feel calmer and more connected, and that starts with having the right support in the first part of our day.

You have a grounded presence, but also take initiative. You're warm and kind, especially with little ones, but you understand the professional nature of this role. You're self-directed, flexible, and detail-oriented. You communicate clearly, manage your time well, and approach each day with a proactive mindset. You take pride in leaving things better than you found them.

You are comfortable with each day looking different: some days, you'll be focused more on childcare, while other days you'll be meal prepping, helping with laundry, or tackling an organizational project. You believe no task is too big or too small and are creative, organized, and dependable. As time passes, you may even preempt some needs, suggest new systems, or pave a better way forward in our home.

Most of all, we are looking for someone we can genuinely trust and rely on for the long term — someone who becomes a consistent, valued part of how our household runs and who takes pride in the role they play in our family's day-to-day life. We are hoping to find someone who is highly adaptable and will grow with our family as our needs evolve.

Key Responsibilities

Family Support & Child Assistance

• Provide dedicated supervision and engagement during scheduled childcare blocks
• Prep kid-friendly lunches during childcare hours
• Child-related errands as needed

Meal Planning & Prep

• Weekly batch cooking session: prepare 2–3 full meals designed to be reheated throughout the week, with a leftovers mindset
• Prep snacks, including washing and cutting fresh fruits and vegetables
• Grocery shopping for meal prep ingredients
• Follow household dietary needs and preferences (gluten free)
• Kitchen cleanup and maintenance after prep

Laundry & Linen Care

• Wash, fold, and organize family laundry and linens
• Special garment care for items as needed
• Regular linen rotation: bed sheets, bathroom towels
• Maintain a tidy, well-stocked laundry area

Household Management & Organization

• Create and/or Maintain household organization systems
• Daily resets and prep home for cleaners
• Light tidying (dishes, surfaces, vacuum high-traffic areas)
• Assistance with seasonal swaps as needed
• Coordinate donation drop-offs
• Indoor plant care
• Packing and unpacking support for travel
• Occasional event, holiday, or guest prep
• Change batteries, light bulbs, smoke detectors, etc.

Deep Cleaning & Special Projects

• Occasional deep cleans: refrigerator, oven, baseboards
• Refresh entry areas
• Organizational projects as needed (pantry, toys)
• Maintain HVAC filters and air purifiers on a regular schedule

Inventory & Errands

• Contribute to a running household supply list
• Restocking pantry and refrigerator as needed
• Assist with household orders and subscriptions (Amazon, Costco, Target, etc.)
• Returns, dry cleaning, gift shopping, and other errands as needed
• Mail and package handling including breaking down boxes

Vendor & Property Oversight

• Oversee cleaners, contractors, and repair technicians when on-site
• Light outdoor space upkeep

Vehicle Management

• Track family vehicle maintenance appointments
• Assist with fueling, cleaning, and organizing the family vehicle
• Track registration and insurance renewal timelines

Administrative & Personal Assistant Support

• Maintain awareness of the family calendar and household schedules
• Track receipts and budget for expenses incurred in the house manager role
