Respiratory Therapist (Pulmonary Function) - Day - Newark - $10K Sign On

Job Overview Role: Licensed Respiratory Therapist responsible for diagnostic pulmonary function testing, including hemodynamic monitoring, diagnostic procedures, and pharmacologic modality administration. The position maintains equipment, ensures quality control, performs record‑keeping, educates staff, and conducts research. Shift & Location Dayshift – no weekends or holidays. Four 10‑hour shifts per week (7 am–5:30 pm). Rotating weekly between Monday and Friday with regular weekend off and a 4‑day weekend off pattern. Location: Newark PFT lab. The position offers a $10,000 sign‑on bonus for eligible candidates. Principal Responsibilities Exhibit core behaviors of love and excellence with patients, families, and team members. Provide highest quality care, continuously learn new skills, and improve services. Perform pulmonary function tests in compliance with American Thoracic Society recommendations (spirometry, diffusion capacity, lung volumes, maximum respiratory pressures, body plethysmography). Perform arterial and capillary blood gas sampling, pulse oximetry, and exercise tests (home oxygen therapy, six‑minute walk, oxygen titration). Assist or perform cardiopulmonary stress testing, bronchoprovocation tests, high altitude simulation test (HAST), exhaled nitric oxide test. Assist physicians during bronchoscopy, pleuroscopy, and tracheostomy changes. Respond to emergencies with CPR and airway management. Maintain equipment through cleaning, disinfection, calibration, and quality control. Verify patient registration and identification during check‑in. Use Powerchart and Breeze software. Follow standard precautions and complete mandatory education courses. Address safety issues and report hazards in a timely manner. Schedule patient appointments using the electronic patient schedule. Perform additional related duties as needed. Education & Experience Graduate of an accredited School of Respiratory Therapy. Registered Respiratory Therapist with a minimum of two years’ experience. Special Requirements Active Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential. Current BLS certification; ACLS preferred. Current AARC membership preferred. State of Delaware licensure required. Compensation Salary range: $39.50 to $54.31 per hour, based on relevant experience. Actual salary will be determined by qualifications and experience.
