Software Architect

Lead Software ArchitectWe are seeking a Lead Software Architect to guide the development and implementation of effective solutions. The role involves architecting products, strategies, and process improvements with a focus on cybersecurity and digital engineering integration. This position will translate customer needs into a plan by developing durable software architectures. Your expertise will be vital in leading the creation of tangible software releases, cloud migrations, and technical innovation within an Agile process.Location: Patuxent River, Maryland (Onsite)Clearance: Must have a Minimum of an Active Secret ClearanceKey ResponsibilitiesSupport the organization and customers in their transition to a DE workflow.Develop and implement solutions by creating durable software architectures with a focus on cybersecurity and digital engineering (DE) integration.Architect products, strategies, and process improvements, establish specifications, and drive engineering discipline using DE automation.Utilize tools such as Came, GitLab, Jira, Confluence, and Agentic AI workflows to design solutions architecture.Lead the translation of solution architecture into tangible software releases, cloud migrations, and process improvements using an Agile DE process.Design solutions for unique use cases that support mission objectives.Lead and support proposal efforts in a competitive environment.Guide and mentor a team to develop solutions for customers.Required Qualifications10+ years of experience in developing software engineering architecture and implementation.5+ years of experience in aviation or with the Navy.Experience with SysML or UML, and object-oriented programming languages such as C++, Java, or C#.Experience with Agile Scrum or Kanban.Knowledge of Cloud technologies, migration, and modernization.Ability to lead and support proposal efforts in a competitive environment.Ability to lead or support technical solutioning across multiple opportunities or proposals simultaneously.Bachelor's degree in CS or Software Engineering.Ability to obtain a Security+, CISSP, or ISSAP Certification within 3 months of hire date.Preferred QualificationsExperience with programming languages Rust, Go, or Python.Experience in DE and Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE).Experience with Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance (ISR).Experience developing whitepapers.Knowledge of software architecture and design patterns.
