Warehouse Team Leader

Job Title: Team Lead – Warehouse Shipping (2nd Shift) Job Description The Team Lead oversees daily warehouse shipping operations in an assigned area and acts as the primary point of leadership in the absence of the Supervisor. This role coordinates a small team in a just‑in‑time sequencing department focused on inspection and rework of wire harnesses for the automotive industry, ensuring accuracy, compliance with customer‑specific requirements, and alignment with corporate policies and quality standards. Essential Skills Experience in warehouse shipping operations. Experience in supervising or leading a team in an operational or warehouse environment. Ability to organize and coordinate daily associate activities. Ability to prepare clear and accurate reports for management. Ability to identify, report, and help resolve shortages, damages, non‑conformances, and other discrepancies. Strong attention to detail for maintaining accurate department records and documentation. Ability to read and understand blueprints. Capability to provide assistance and training in established processes, procedures, and technical applications. Understanding of equipment and materials required to perform warehouse and rework tasks. Ability to ensure proper tools and equipment are available and used appropriately by associates. Strong communication skills to interact with internal customers and address operational needs. Ability to assist in addressing customer issues and concerns professionally. Understanding of customer‑specific requirements and how to ensure they are met. Ability to support management in achieving corporate and departmental goals and objectives. Commitment to supporting corporate and departmental policies, including EMS/QMS policies and procedures. Commitment to supporting and promoting health and safety policies. Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to relate to others beyond giving and receiving instructions. Work Environment This role is based in a just‑in‑time sequencing department that performs inspection and rework on wire harnesses for the automotive industry, supporting multiple automotive plants. The position operates on 2nd shift, typically from 4:00 PM to 1:00 AM, Monday through Friday, with Saturday work as needed based on production demands. You will work as part of a small team of approximately seven people in a warehouse and production environment that involves handling materials, using tools and equipment appropriate for rework and inspection, and following established processes and quality procedures. The work setting emphasizes adherence to EMS/QMS policies, health and safety standards, and consistent communication with internal customers to support time‑sensitive automotive operations. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Lansing, MI. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $21.00–$21.00 per hour.
