CONTRACTOR Remote (US Only) Remote Active Medical Coder micro1 is engaging Medical Coders to apply outpatient coding expertise to help train next-generation AI systems. Experts will annotate and review outpatient medical records, assign ICD-10-CM and CPT/HCPCS codes, apply outpatient E&M leveling and coding conventions, and provide expert feedback on coding guidelines and edge cases. No prior AI experience is required. Salary USD20 - USD32 / hour Department AI Research & Evaluation Experience Hands-on outpatient medical coding experience with comprehensive knowledge of ICD-10-CM, CPT, HCPCS, outpatient E&M leveling, and outpatient coding guidelines. Responsibilities Annotate and review outpatient medical records from physician offices, clinics, ambulatory surgery centers, and hospital outpatient encounters. Accurately assign ICD-10-CM and CPT/HCPCS codes based on clinical documentation. Apply Evaluation & Management leveling to outpatient visits using official medical decision‑making or total‑time guidelines. Apply outpatient‑specific coding conventions, including diagnosis coding guidelines, modifier usage, medical necessity, and diagnosis-to‑procedure linking. Collaborate with project stakeholders to clarify requirements and resolve ambiguities in clinical documentation. Provide expert feedback on coding guidelines and edge cases to improve project workflows and model understanding.
