Counter Sales Associate

The Counter Sales Associate is responsible for delivering excellent customer service while supporting daily sales operations at the branch. This role serves as a key point of contact for customers, assisting with product selection, order entry, and transactions. The ideal candidate is customer-focused, detail-oriented, and comfortable working in a fast-paced, team-driven environment.

• Assist customers with product selection, pricing, and order entry
• Process transactions, returns, and special orders accurately
• Communicate product availability, lead times, and solutions
• Pick, stage, load, and verify materials for customer pickup or delivery as needed
• Support inventory, stocking, and organization across the branch
• Operate equipment (e.g., forklifts) safely when required
• Maintain clean, safe, and organized work areas (counter, warehouse, and yard)
• Partner with team members to ensure accurate and efficient order fulfillment
• Follow all safety policies and perform other duties as assigned

• Experience in a lumber yard, building materials, or construction supply environment
• Strong customer service skills with the ability to balance sales and hands-on support
• Ability to lift 50–60 lbs and work indoors/outdoors in varying conditions
• Forklift experience (or willingness to be trained)
• Attention to detail, reliability, and team-oriented mindset
• Basic computer/POS skills
