OHSU Knight Cancer Institute | Portland, Oregon The Division of Hematology & Medical Oncology at Oregon Health & Science University (OHSU) seeks an outstanding physician-scientist in Lung Cancer and Thoracic Malignancies for a senior leadership role at the Knight Cancer Institute , an NCI-designated Comprehensive Cancer Center. This is a unique opportunity to lead and expand a nationally recognized lung cancer program , advancing innovative clinical and translational research while delivering exceptional, patient-centered care. Opportunity Highlights Endowed Position : Eligible for support from the Wayne D. & Joan E. Kuni Foundation Endowment (subject to institutional approval) Leadership Role : Shape strategy and growth of an integrated lung cancer program Protected Research Time : ~50% effort dedicated to research Collaborative Environment : Work within a highly interdisciplinary, team science model Key Responsibilities Provide strategic leadership for lung cancer clinical and research programs Develop and lead a comprehensive, multidisciplinary thoracic oncology program Build a high-impact research portfolio in clinical and/or translational science Expand clinical trials and investigator-initiated research Foster collaborations across OHSU and with regional and national partners Mentor faculty, fellows, and early-career investigators Academic & Clinical Contributions Deliver exemplary patient care in thoracic oncology Teach and mentor medical students, residents, and fellows Maintain a robust scholarly program advancing lung cancer science Participate in institutional service and professional outreach Qualifications MD, MD/PhD, or equivalent Board-certified in Medical Oncology Eligible for Oregon medical licensure Qualified for appointment at the Associate or Full Professor level Demonstrated excellence in funded research, publication, and program development Experience leading clinical trials and collaborative research initiatives preferred Why OHSU Knight Cancer Institute The Knight is internationally recognized for advancing early detection and transforming cancer care through innovation, collaboration, and translational impact .
