Senior Data Scientist

Senior Data ScientistGenesis10 is currently seeking a Senior Data Scientist for a contract position with a Financial Services Organization located in Atlanta, GA or Dallas, TX. This role is responsible for utilizing advanced analytical techniques and tools to provide data and reporting to various departments to facilitate identification, documentation, analysis, monitoring, mitigation and tracking of risks. The Senior Data Scientist will collaborate with other branches of the Risk department, as well as with management from other departments in various business capacities, to build, recalibrate, and validate advanced predictive or forecasting models.Responsibilities:Use quantitative and analytical skills to mine, process and analyze data using SQL, Fabric, R, Python, SAS, Power BI, MS Excel or similar spreadsheet programs, and other business toolsBuild, recalibrate, and validate advanced predictive or forecasting modelsDevelop and present analysis on performance, trends, and projections to upper management to facilitate business and strategic decisionsPrepare and distribute recurring and ad-hoc analysis and reporting on portfolios including performance and projectionsProvide easy-to-understand, action-oriented analytical reports and other presentations to the management teamIdentify and evaluate portfolio trends and KPIs with respect to market valuations, depreciation, residuals, and other factorsTrouble-shoot data deficiencies and errors to ensure timely and accurate analysis of the dataConfer with IT and functional business lines to evaluate, design, implement, and maintain relational databases and/or large data setsWork with the Risk Management team to gather requirements and develop business cases as necessaryRequirements:Bachelor's Degree in Mathematics, Statistics, Economics, Computer Science, Finance, or other quantitative fieldsSeven (7) years of experience in data analytics, such as data mining, forecast modeling, and databasesThree (3) years of experience with risk management or pricing/optimizationProficient with SQL, Fabric, Python, R or other business intelligence softwareProficient with using Microsoft Office Suite applications such as Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and Power BIExperience with statistical analysis software/languages (R, Python, SQL, & SAS) in addition to training in statistical modeling, data analysis, or computer programmingAbility to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference and apply concepts to practical situationsDetail oriented with problem solving and critical thinking abilitiesEffective verbal and written communication and interpersonal skillsMust live within a commutable distance to one of the following cities: Atlanta, GA or Dallas, TXDesired skills:Master's Degree and/or PhD in Mathematics, Statistics, Economics, Computer Science, Finance, or other quantitative fieldsPrior Auto finance or captive industry experienceOnly candidates available and ready to work directly as Genesis10 employees will be considered for this position.
