Job Description
Job Opportunity Position: Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (Ultrasonographer) This position provides essential diagnostic patient care services utilizing ultrasound technology and related procedures. The Diagnostic Medical Sonographer is responsible for the daily operations within the sonography room, managing patient schedules, maintaining equipment, reporting any malfunctions, and participating in quality assessment processes. Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct ultrasound examinations and diagnostic procedures with precision and accuracy.
- Manage daily operations of the sonography room to ensure efficient workflow.
- Schedule patient appointments and maintain an organized patient workflow.
- Perform routine maintenance on ultrasound equipment and report any issues promptly.
- Engage in continuous quality assessment processes to uphold high standards of care.
- Commit to ongoing professional development and education within the field.
- Maintain strict adherence to medical ethics and patient confidentiality.
- Graduate from an accredited Diagnostic Medical Sonography program or Cardiovascular Technology program approved by the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP).
- Active certification from the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS) in Abdomen, OB/GYN, and Vascular specialties.
- Preferred: Breast certification and Adult Echo Cardiography certification.
- Current compliance with Continuing Medical Education (CME) requirements in applicable specialty areas.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required.
