Job Description:\n\n$45 - $50 / hour\nReporting to the Machinery Mover Manager, Corovan Machinery Moving, the Machinery Mover Onsite Supervisor / Driver is responsible for direct onsite operations of complex machinery moving crews to complete projects for commercial customers. In addition, they are the point of contact as an onsite manager for all commercial machinery moves. Any possible change orders requested by the customer need to be directed to the sales representative and the Machinery Moving Manager.\nPerforms supervisory and leadership functions including ensuring the crew performs aligning and anchoring the machinery, attaching loads, controlling the movement of heavy equipment, and ensuring the rigging is safe for use. Assists with a variety of functions with manual labor tasks as needed. In addition, this position will require driving trucks that require a Class A Commercial License.\nMachinery Mover Onsite Supervisor/ Driver is also responsible for reporting and escalating any related issues about the project to Corovan Machinery Moving Management Team and dispatch. Typically reports to the Machinery Mover Manager but may be given directions from the Machinery Mover Operations Supervisor.\nESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:\n \nSafety:\n· Ensures job compliance with Federal and Company safety policy and procedures.\n· Performs work with quality, efficiency, and safety at all times.\n· Trains crews in proper handling and safety techniques.\n· Ensure crews are adhering to all safety rules; to include proper safety equipment and operate 25/35 forklift safely.\n· Provide daily safety briefings (safety huddles) with crew, at the beginning of each job, to be in compliance with OSHA and company policy.\n· Report all safety concerns immediately to management team.\n· If also a qualified and approved driver, drives trucks up to and including Class A vehicles. Must follow the procedure and complete the Vehicle Inspection Form if driving company vehicles.\n \nProject Assignments (On-site):\n· Obtains daily work assignments from dispatch.\n· Arrives at Corovan dispatch office (or on-site), in complete uniform every day.\n· Manages large-sized and complex machinery moving projects to ensure complete customer satisfaction.\n· Hands on supervisory role with the ability to effectively move machinery utilizing forklifts, skates and jacks, and cranes.\n· Manipulate rigging lines, hoists, and pulling gear to move or support materials such as heavy equipment or airplanes.\n· Attach pulleys and blocks to fixed overhead structures such as beams, ceilings, and gin pole booms, using bolts and clamps.\n· Before every job, tests rigging to ensure safety and reliability. \n· Ensures that crew dismantles and stores rigging equipment after use.\n· Select gear such as cables, pulleys, and winches, according to load weights and sizes, facilities, and work schedules.\n· Knows and understands road and weight restrictions and surface restrictions to ensure compliance and safety.\n· Properly loads and unloads trucks using forklifts, cranes or using ramps or on lift-gates to protect goods being moved and supervises others doing the same.\n· Completes all paperwork accurately and neatly and turns into operations daily.\n· Handles and stages machines, performs detail work, anchoring & leveling and trash-out functions on machinery projects.\n \nSupervisory:\n· Supervises onsite machinery mover, movers, third party machinery installers, third-party machinery techs, drivers, and lead machinery mover, as required to perform a quality job for the customer.\n· Ensure all crew members take their meal and rest period breaks according to company policy.\n· Assists with performance management of crew members and recommends necessary discipline and termination of employees in accordance with company policy.\n· Ensure the timesheets and other documentation are completed accurately, signed by employees, and submitted by the time requirement.\n· Monitor the team for compliance on company and customer policies and procedures.\n \nDriver duties:\n· As an approved driver, drives trucks up to and including Class A vehicles.\n· Must follow the procedure and complete the Vehicle Inspection Form if driving company vehicles and is enrolled in the DMV Pull-Notice program.\n· Performs pre-trip check and safely drives vehicles up to and including, Class A tractor-trailer and Class C bobtails.\n \nCustomer Relations:\n· Maintain excellent customer service with the customers, sales, transportation, warehouse, and operation teams to establish solid relationships.\n· Must work cooperatively with all members of the crew.\n· Must be courteous, helpful, and professional to all existing and potential customers.\n \nEngagement:\n· Ensure interactions with crew and customers are professional at all times to promote company’s values and expectations.\n· Proactively engage employees to promote a positive work environment.\n· Must be encouraging and helpful to the crew by treating them with respect and find solutions to their questions, for example, location and work hours.\n· Any negative encounter, including discipline, should immediately be diffused to avoid further escalation, and resolved off-site or in a private office. \n \nFinancial:\n· Ensure job efficiency in order to be brought in under bid. Any possible change orders need to be documented and signed by the customer for processing and approval.\nTraining:\n· Train employees in compliance with company policy, to include on-the-job and classroom training, and provide feedback to Operations team with regards to deficiencies for additional training classes needed.\n· Trains employees for operations of vehicles, mechanized devices or equipment-running, maneuvering, navigating, or driving vehicles or mechanized equipment’s such as forklifts, scissor lifts, tractor trailers, telehandlers, aerial boom lifts, etc.\n \nQUALIFICATIONS: \nTo perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Must efficiently communicate with customer and coworkers.\n3. MATHEMATICAL SKILLS - Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to read and correctly interpret the legend on drawings and read both standard and metric tape measures.\n4. REASONING ABILITY - Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.\n5. LEADERSHIP - Strong interpersonal and leadership skills.\n6. OTHER DUTIES:\na) Problem solving and strong decision-making skills.\nb) Must be familiar with basic systems machinery and its movement and placement.\nc) Must be able to produce detailed inventories of all goods exposed to on machinery moving projects.\nd) Must be able to accurately estimate any sized machinery move to determine manpower, trucks, and equipment necessary to complete the tasks required.\ne) Understands space planning fundamentals and building code.\nf) Operating Vehicles, Mechanized Devices, or Equipment - Running, maneuvering, navigating, or driving vehicles or mechanized equipment, such as forklifts, passenger vehicles.\ng) Controlling Machines and Processes — Using either control mechanisms or direct physical activity to operate machines or processes (not including computers or vehicles).\nh) Must be qualified to do complex moving of heavy and bulky machines in accordance with Cal OSHA standards with regards to pre-inspection of equipment, safe operating practices, material handling and use.\ni) Required to successfully complete OSHA Certified 30 requirement.\nj) Must complete all Machinery Moving Training Classes, as well Driver I and II Level Corovan University training and pass all the written tests.\nEDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:\nRequired:\n1. High school diploma or general education degree (GED); related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.\n2. Active Class A commercial vehicle license and medical card, and a valid driving record that meets the company’s insurance carrier’s requirements, which includes two (2) years of driving experience in like equipment.\n3. Five (5) to eight (8) years conducting pre-move meetings, and communicating standard move protocols to customers or related experience.\n4. Two (2) to five (5) years of estimating all sized machinery move and install projects to determine manpower, trucks, and equipment necessary to complete the tasks required or related experience.\n5. If driving on behalf of company, a valid driving record that meets the company’s insurance carrier’s requirements is required. Must be enrolled in the DMV Pull-Notice program.\n6. Certified forklift operator license required for the equipment being used.\n7. Must be able to write business email, and correspondence.\n8. Two years’ experience driving with Class A license in a commercial environment.\nPreferred:\n9. Hourly, full time, 30 plus hours, non-exempt, regular position.\n2. Employees might be required to work late evenings or weekends depending on the business needs.\n3. All Overtime must be approved by manager after working.\n4. Must be able to work 7 days a week including holidays.\n \n \nTRAVEL:\nThis position requires 85% of time to travel around the local area; percent may increase depending upon customer assignment. This position may be required to support Southern California.
