EHS Manager

We are seeking an Environmental, Health and Safety (EHS) Manager for the Windom, MN facility. The role directs the daily activities of the site EHS program, interpreting regulations, fostering a zero‑harm culture, and collaborating across functional boundaries. Responsibilities Partner with site leadership to promote safety, health, and environmental excellence. Implement and standardize Toro’s Safety Management System across the region. Ensure compliance with all federal, state, local, and corporate EHS requirements. Lead hazard identification, risk assessment, and injury elimination efforts. Oversee regulatory programs such as machine guarding, PPE, and environmental compliance. Identify EHS training needs to ensure compliance, understanding, and performance improvement. Establish and track EHS goals, metrics, and continuous improvement initiatives. Conduct facility audits and ensure timely closure of corrective actions. Support incident investigations and implement effective corrective measures. Manage regulatory inspections and related documentation. Collaborate with engineering and operations on equipment, facilities, and capital projects. Build relationships with internal teams, vendors, insurers, and regulatory agencies. Promote ergonomic, wellness, and injury prevention programs. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in a related field such as Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental, Industrial Engineering, or Engineering Technology. 3+ years leading and building comprehensive safety programs with evidence of continuous improvement. Applicable EHS certificate preferred (e.g., CSP, CIH, OHST). Ability to obtain a professional certification within 3 years of starting the role. Strong manufacturing business acumen with familiarity in manufacturing and material handling preferred. Excellent communication skills, both formal and informal, at all organizational levels. Strong analytical, negotiation, presentation, and facilitation skills. Ability to lead and direct teams and/or committees. Ability to conceive, develop, and execute EHS projects within a manufacturing environment. Demonstrated knowledge of delivering hands‑on health and safety training. Ability to develop, implement, and coordinate comprehensive health and safety incident prevention programs. Skilled in the standards, concepts, practices, and procedures within the health, safety and environmental fields. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision. Job Details Location: Windom, MN. Reports to: Regional EHS Manager (direct) and Director of Operations (dotted‑line). Direct reports: one internal and one external report (contract nurse). Shift: First shift with occasional alternate shifts for training, investigation, and culture development. Environment: Office with frequent work on the factory floor, warehouse, and outside facility. Workload: Rapidly changing priorities with frequent deadlines. Confidential: Work with confidential information. Safety: Regular use of personal protective equipment. Travel: Infrequent travel, up to 10% by automobile and air. Fluency in Spanish is a plus. Benefits Competitive salary range of $103,000–$130,000 and potential incentive program based on performance.
