Ophthalmologist – Independent Practice Track (MedCBO Supported) Job Title: Ophthalmology Physician – Independent Practice Physician (Ownership Model, Not Employed) Job Type: Independent Practice Opportunity Overview Physicians interested in establishing or transitioning into an independently operated medical practice supported by MedCBO's administrative infrastructure. Physicians own and operate their practice entity; MedCBO provides non‑clinical business and operational support. MedCBO does not direct patient care or clinical operations. Physicians govern clinical operations, decisions, and patient‑care policies. Physician Responsibilities Provide care within the physician’s specialty scope. Develop professional relationships within the medical community. Coordinate payer credentialing as required. Determine clinical services offered. Manage clinical quality and patient experience. Administrative Support Provided by MedCBO Practice formation coordination. Billing and collections management. Payer contract negotiation. Financial infrastructure and reporting. Operational workflows and staffing systems. Technology platform and implementation. Revenue cycle management, coding, and payer contracting support. EHR, technology platform, telehealth, and clinical workflow systems. Credentialing, enrollments, and facility privileging coordination. Accounting, financial reporting, and practice financial infrastructure. HR administration, staffing workflows, and compliance support. Supply chain and vendor coordination. Requirements MD or DO with unrestricted license in good standing in the intended state of practice. Board Certified or Board Eligible in a specialty appropriate to the clinical services provided. Eligible for hospital and/or facility privileges where applicable. Ability to obtain professional liability coverage at standard market rates. No current limitations, exclusions, or disciplinary restrictions that would prevent independent practice. Interest in the independent practice model. Preferred Desire for practice ownership. Community‑based care interest. Leadership or program development interest. Location Multiple U.S. markets available (urban, suburban, and rural). Relocation and market selection are physician‑directed, subject to licensure. Compensation Compensation is not a salary and is generated by the physician‑owned practice. Financial outcomes vary based on specialty scope, services offered, payer mix, physician activity, and local market conditions. Results are not guaranteed.
