Sit Down Forklift Operator

Forklift Operator – DeKalb, IL

Pay: $20.00/hr Schedule: Monday–Friday, 6:00 AM–2:30 PM Type: Temp-to-Hire, Long-Term Opportunity

About the Facility: This is a national third-party logistics (3PL) warehouse. The site supports a global manufacturer of industrial, safety, automotive, healthcare, office, and consumer products. Work is focused on warehouse distribution, inventory handling, and trailer loading.

Job Responsibilities

• Operate an electric sit-down forklift safely and efficiently
• Load and unload trailers
• Frequently get on/off the forklift to: Wrap pallets
• Verify paperwork
• Print/apply labels
• Scan pallet numbers
• Verify pallet quality and inventory accuracy
• Complete paperwork accurately
• Participate in team meetings

Important: Forklift operation at this site is technical. Operators must understand proper trailer loading and how to maximize trailer capacity using cube utilization. Experienced forklift operators should already be familiar with this concept.

Required Experience & Skills

• Electric sit-down forklift experience
• Steel toe shoes required
• RF scanner experience preferred
• Warehouse Management System (WMS) experience preferred
• Strong communication skills
• Attention to detail
• Ability to stay proactive and productive throughout the shift
