Experienced Orthodontic/Dental Assistant

Job Description

Coeur d'Alene Kids Dental and Orthodontics is growing! We're looking for an experienced Orthodontic Assistant to join our team. This position combines orthodontic and pediatric dental assisting, making it a great opportunity for someone who enjoys variety and working with children.

Responsibilities:

Assist the orthodontist during treatment
Assist the pediatric dentist chairside
Perform pediatric dental cleanings (prophys)
Take dental scans and dental X-rays
Prepare treatment rooms and sterilize instruments
Educate patients on oral hygiene and post-treatment care
Maintain accurate patient records using Open Dental
Follow all infection control protocols
Work closely with the doctors and team to provide excellent patient care

Qualifications

Required:

Minimum 1 year of orthodontic assisting experience
Minimum 1 year of chairside assisting experience
Strong communication and organizational skills
Knowledge of infection control and dental terminology

Preferred:

Pediatric dental assisting experience (training available for the right candidate)
Experience with Open Dental software
Familiarity with digital orthodontic workflows
