Sr. Director, Software Engineering (Asset Intelligence)

Sr. Director, Software Engineering (Asset Intelligence) As a Senior Director of Software Engineering at Capital One, you will lead the Asset Intelligence technology organization into an AI‑empowered future. You will set the technical vision, champion advanced tooling and automation, and empower your teams to deliver robust and scalable solutions across our enterprise services. Responsibilities Lead, manage and grow multiple teams of product‑focused software engineers. Mentor and guide the professional and technical development of engineers on your team. Work with product managers to understand desired application capabilities and testing scenarios. Continuously improve software engineering practices. Collaborate with Agile teams to design, develop, test, implement, and support technical solutions across full‑stack development tools and technologies. Lead the craftsmanship, availability, resilience, and scalability of your solutions. Stay on top of technical trends, experiment with new technologies, and mentor the engineering community. Encourage innovation, implementation of cutting‑edge technologies, inclusion, and diversity. Improve velocity of your and other teams. Deploy new and existing applications into AWS environments. Break monolithic applications into micro‑service architectures and build new microservices. Basic Qualifications Bachelor's Degree. At least 9 years of experience in software development. At least 7 years of experience in people management. Preferred Qualifications Master's Degree in Computer Science or Software Engineering. 13+ years of experience in software development. 8+ years of experience in Agile practices. Salary McLean, VA: $314,800 - $359,300. Plano, TX: $286,200 - $326,700. Richmond, VA: $286,200 - $326,700.
