Job Title

Job duties include:

• Writing medical orders and prescriptions for non-controlled substances and controlled substances.
• Documenting care provided in the Computerized Patient Record System.
• Documenting detailed, targeted initial history and physical examination.
• Obtaining consent and documenting procedures performed.
• Providing education and counseling of patients and families.
• Reviewing and revising policies and scope of practice.
• Reviewing and guiding protocols in chronic patient management.
• Performing comprehensive, detailed, targeted, initial history and physical examination.
• Ordering diagnostic studies such as laboratory tests, X-rays, EMG, EKGs, and other tests.
• Consulting other disciplines to complete patient evaluation.
• Carrying out health promotion and disease prevention activities.
• Demonstrating surgical competence in dentistry procedures.
• Participating in all VISN and national level efforts in dental programs.
• Diagnosing pathological or irregular oral conditions.
• Administering local anesthesia.
• Performing routine and complex restoration of teeth.
• Performing simple and complex extractions of teeth.
• Performing alveoloplasty and other routine surgical procedures.
• Performing prosthetic dentistry to include immediate dentures, full dentures, partial dentures, crowns, and fixed bridge work.
• Performing routine endodontic procedures on single or multi-canal teeth.
• Performing routine and surgical periodontal procedures.

Work Schedule: Monday - Friday, 08:00am - 04:30pm
