Manufacturing Engineer ManagerThe Manufacturing Engineering Manager leads and develops a high-performing Manufacturing Engineering team to drive operational excellence, production efficiency, quality, and cost optimization across all manufacturing locations. The position plays a critical role in new product introduction, continuous improvement, capital project execution, and cross-functional collaboration to support safe, reliable, and world-class manufacturing operations. This role is responsible for translating product and process requirements into scalable, efficient manufacturing solutions aligned with Havis' Operational Model.Key Responsibilities:Manufacturing Excellence & Continuous ImprovementDrive process improvement initiatives across all locations to enhance productivity, quality, safety, and cost performanceLead cross-functional teams to optimize factory layouts, material flow, tooling, fixtures, and work cell designApply Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, and data-driven problem-solving methodologies to eliminate waste and improve process capabilityMonitor manufacturing performance through observation, measurement, and analysis; recommend and implement corrective actionsProcess Documentation & StandardizationDevelop, maintain, and deploy standard manufacturing documentation, including Process Flows, PMFEAs, Control Plans and Work InstructionsEnsure consistent training and adherence to standardized processes across manufacturing teamsCapital Projects & Technology EnablementLead capital equipment and automation projects, including justification, implementation, and validationCollaborate with Facilities and Production teams to support equipment upgrades, capacity expansion, and process optimizationEvaluate and support automation, robotics, and Industry 4.0 opportunities where appropriateNew Product Introduction (NPI) & Cross Functional CollaborationPartner closely with Product, Quality, Production & Design Engineering during new product introduction to ensure Design for Manufacturability (DFM) and smooth transition from development to full-scale productionSupport development and validation of manufacturing processes, tooling, and fixtures for new and existing productsWork closely with Purchasing and Quality teams to ensure robust incoming inspection processesLeadership & Team DevelopmentLead, mentor, and develop a team of Manufacturing Engineers, fostering both technical expertise and leadership capabilityEstablish clear goals, communicate expectations, and conduct regular performance evaluations and development planningPromote a culture of collaboration, accountability, continuous improvement, and employee engagementQualifications:EducationBachelor's degree in Manufacturing engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field requiredMaster's degree preferredWork ExperienceMinimum of 5 years of experience in a manufacturing environmentAt least 2 years of experience in a people leadership or supervisory rolePreferred experience in sheet metal fabrication & injection moldingTechnical & Professional SkillsStrong working knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, and continuous improvement methodologiesProficiency in SolidWorks or similar CAD softwareExperience with fixturing design, plant layout, and work cell developmentFamiliarity with ERP/MRP systems; Industry 4.0 technologies considered a plusExperience with automation, robotics, and CNC programming strongly preferredProficient in Microsoft Office, with advanced capability in Microsoft ExcelAbility to read and interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and work instructionsStrong analytical, problem-solving, and project management skillsEffective verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to present technical recommendations to varied audiencesPhysical & Work RequirementsAbility to regularly lift to 25 lbs. and occasionally up to 50 lbs.Visual requirements include close vision, color vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focusComfortable working in a manufacturing environment that may include machinery, noise, dust, and chemicals (refer to SDS)Use of appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) and computer/electronic equipment as requiredCompany DetailsHavis is at the forefront of revolutionizing industries by unlocking the full potential of technology to drive productivity and enhance safety through innovative mobility solutions.
