Job Description Job Description Answer the telephone promptly, schedule patient appointments, record messages in the EHR system and send to physician and greet patients and visitors in a professional manner.

Schedule patient appointments and call patients two days in advance of their appointment.

Verify insurance eligibility through Allscript’s system no later than two days prior to the patient’s appointment.

When a patient comes into the office, in the Allscripts system: check in the patient, collect co-pays, scan in insurance cards and picture id, retrieve e-mail address from patient, update referring physician, document history, add patient education, document vital signs, document urinalysis results, obtain a current pharmacy, delete old lab orders and send the chart to the physician.

Reports to Manager of Medical Assistants.
