About the Position

Job Title: MRI Technologist Profession: Allied Specialty: Radiology Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 10-hour Night Shift Hours per Shift: 40 Experience: Minimum 1 year MRI experience required, will accept acute or outpatient License: Required Certifications: BLS, ARRT-MR Must-Have: Experience with the specified patient types, critical thinking skills, punctuality Description: MRI Technologist position available. Facility includes licensed beds and is a stroke center. It is not designated as a trauma or teaching hospital. Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility. The unit has an average patient census of 25-30 per day. Patient types include geriatric, pediatric, and those with suspected brain issues. Common diagnoses involve strokes, internal auditory canal issues, pituitary conditions, and others. Essential skills include setting up suction, operating oxygen, and understanding MRI safety. Knowledge of what can and cannot go into the MRI bore is required. Experience with ventilated patients is necessary, as ICU staff will accompany them. Candidates should be proficient in placing patients on MR telemetry and administering contrast. The position requires critical thinking and comfort in working with confused patients. If working nights, the technologist will operate solo with an MRI assistant. Day positions may require IV skills. Support includes a transporter and an MRI assistant during the day and night. A lead MRI technologist and managerial support will be available during day hours. Remote radiologist services are provided 24/7, along with rapid response teams. Technology used includes EMR, PACS, and specific MRI equipment. There is no floating requirement for this position. Weekend rotation is based on requisition needs with a call schedule. Holidays will have expectations for coverage every other holiday. Requests for time off can be approved up to 7 days. The schedule will follow a set pattern. Dress code is black scrubs. Unit culture will promote collaboration and support.
