Shipping Supervisor

Always operating with a safety-first standard.PWSG’s overriding expectations for all employees is to complete ALL assigned tasks and responsibilities daily. No work tasks should be carried over from current day to the next. It is the supervisor’s responsibility to see that ALL tasks are completed daily and accurately.Schedule couriers as neededAddress all customer complaints or accidentsManagement of wire rack; ensure those assigned accurately tag and organizeEnsure Warehouse, aisles and grounds are continually maintained in a neat and orderly manner.Ensure that only authorized personnel operate forklifts and other company equipment in a safe manner.Ensure all equipment is functioning properly (including but limited to: wire cutting tools and machines, pipe threading tools and machines, fork trucks, and delivery vehicles); Ensure safety standards are adhered to by all staff membersStrive to continually improve processes, training and developmentPerform other duties as required or requested by the Warehouse ManagerSupervisory Functions:Direct supervision of assigned staff, work assignments and workflow coordination; schedules and organizes staff to ensure proper staffing of shift.Ensure effective coaching methods throughout the outbound operations while maintaining all company policies and procedures.In coordination with Warehouse Manager; staffing; hiring, scheduling, training & performance management Conducts performance evaluations that are timely and constructive.Work with Warehouse Manager to manage discipline and termination of employees as needed and in accordance with company policy.Physical and Work RequirementsWork in a Warehouse setting; some outdoor exposure during the workdayRequired to stand and walk for prolonged periods of time.Must be able to regularly lift and/or move objects up to seventy poundsMust be able to push/pull pallet jack or cart weighing up to 350lbs.Able to perform repeated motions of bending, squatting, stooping, and standing; to include motion of removing product from truck, stabilizing on mode of delivery via two-wheel dolly, or carrying by hand.Qualifications:High school diploma or equivalent required; associate degree or technical certificate in electrical or business-related field preferred.Minimum 2–4 years of experience warehouse operations, preferably wholesale distribution, and two (2) years supervisory experience preferred. Product knowledge of electrical and plumbing supplies is also preferred.Demonstrated ability to lead, coach, and motivate warehouse staff in a fast-paced environmentStrong working knowledge of warehouse management systems (WMS), inventory control, and shipping documentationProven ability to multitask across competing priorities while maintaining accuracy, efficiency, and focus on desired outcomes.Proven experience prioritizing work, meeting shipping deadlines, and adjusting staffing levels to workload demandsAbility to enforce safety standards and promote a culture of safety, accuracy, and accountabilitySolid critical thinking skills with the ability to resolve shipping discrepancies, labor issues, and operational challengesEffective communication skills, including the ability to provide clear direction and collaborate with operations, sales, and management teamsBasic proficiency with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word) or similar business systemsPhysically able to work in a warehouse environment, including standing, walking, and lifting material in accordance with job requirements (see above)All selected candidates are required to undergo pre-employment screenings, including background check and drug screenBenefits:Competitive salary and performance-based incentivesComprehensive health benefits package401(k) retirement plan with employer contributionPaid time off and holidaysProfessional development opportunitiesThis position description is not to be construed as an exhaustive statement of accountability, duties, responsibilities or requirements.
