The Lodge at Ventana Canyon Golf & Racquet Club is seeking an experienced Bartender to provide uncompromising quality of service to the Ventana Canyon Golf & Racquet Club members and guests in accordance with established standards and with hospitality and professionalism.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Maintains inventory control through conscientious use and careful monitoring of all food and beverage products. Communicates with management in a timely manner when supplies are needed.
• Reviews banquet schedule for changes, calendar of events, and special events.
• Ensures compliance with applicable state liquor laws and standard operating procedures provided by the management.
• Communicates guest requests and concerns to the department manager.
• Performs opening and closing duties, which include, but are not limited to inventory, cash control, cleaning, and restocking.
• Stocks bar, mixes and serves alcoholic beverages, assists in cost control, inventory and maintaining inventory records.
• Maintains flexibility to take on new and different tasks as directed by the department manager.
• Accountable for checks and cash transactions. Utilizes Point of Sales System.
• Serve catered parties from service or portable bars.
• On occasion serves meals to guests.
• Incorporates safe work practices in job performance.

• Ability to apply basic math skills.
• Able to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists; to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
• Requires analyzing activities and/or information independently and staying highly organized.
• One to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Alcohol Awareness Training.
• Must be fluent in English; bilingual preferred.
• Must possess good verbal and listening skills.
• Required to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and produce manuals; to write routine reports and correspondence; to speak effectively before groups of customers or associates of the organization.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

• Must be able to stand and walk on their feet for 95% of the shift.
• Must be able to reach, bend, twist, stoop, squat and stretch to fulfill tasks as required.
• Must be able to lift up to 25 lbs. frequently.
• Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. occasionally.
• Requires grasping, writing, standing, sitting, walking repetitive motions, bending, climbing, listening and hearing ability and visual acuity.
• Talking and hearing occur continuously in the process of communicating with guests, supervisors and subordinates.
• Requires manual dexterity to use and operate all necessary equipment.
