Lead Software Engineer - Cloud AI Engineer

Salary: $61,000 - 101,000 per year Requirements:

• Formal training or certification in software engineering concepts, plus 5+ years of applied experience
• Demonstrated fluency with AI-assisted development tools such as GitHub Copilot, Claude Code, or Cursor, used daily as part of the workflow
• Hands-on experience building AI/ML-enabled features or products, including RAG systems, AI agents, prompt engineering, or LLM integration in production or near-production settings
• 3+ years of practical experience with AWS cloud services
• Strong Python programming skills
• Experience with Django or another backend web framework
• Experience with React or another modern UI framework
• Strong experience with Terraform and infrastructure-as-code practices
• Solid knowledge of system design, data structures, and algorithms
• Proven adaptability in fast-moving, ambiguous environments with the ability to deliver quickly
• Strong problem-solving ability with a structured, evidence-based approach to decision-making
• Experience with AI orchestration frameworks such as LangChain, LlamaIndex, CrewAI, or Google ADK is preferred
• Experience with vector databases and embedding models is preferred
• Understanding of LLM evaluation, guardrails, and responsible AI practices is preferred
• Exposure to data engineering tools and platforms, especially Databricks, is preferred
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices is preferred
• Knowledge of other cloud platforms such as Azure or GCP is a plus

• Use AI-powered coding assistants in our daily development work to write, review, debug, and refactor code efficiently and accurately
• Assess AI-generated outputs critically, refining them with sound engineering judgment instead of accepting them at face value
• Continuously assess new AI tools and techniques, promoting adoption when they improve productivity or quality
• Design, build, and deploy enterprise-grade AI solutions, including RAG pipelines, agentic systems, and LLM-driven workflows
• Architect AI systems with production considerations such as scalability, cost control, latency, data privacy, hallucination reduction, and observability
• Build and deploy agentic solutions with enterprise-grade identity, guardrails, tracing, and related controls
• Develop secure, high-quality production code and review/debug code written by others
• Apply strong systems thinking to understand end-to-end interactions, failure points, and ripple effects across distributed systems
• Identify and automate fixes for recurring issues to strengthen operational stability
• Lead evaluation sessions with external vendors, startups, and internal teams to assess architecture, technical credibility, and fit within our environment
