In this full-time role, you will engage with clients through innovative virtual platforms, providing essential mental health services from the comfort of your home. You will have the opportunity to work with a diverse population of adults experiencing low acuity mental health challenges.
About the Organization\nAt Veterans Mental and Behavioral Health, we are committed to delivering high-quality mental health care tailored to the unique needs of our clients. Our organization emphasizes accessibility, integrity, and excellence, and we pride ourselves on building a robust network of licensed mental health professionals. By harnessing technology, we bring therapy to individuals who might otherwise face barriers to accessing traditional in-person services, particularly in the San Jose, California area.
Work Environment\nThis is a remote position, allowing you to create a flexible work schedule that suits your lifestyle. Working from home means that you can manage your time effectively, while still providing high-quality mental health support. Furthermore, you will be supported by our user-friendly counselor portal, which serves as your digital hub for client management, treatment documentation, and communication with colleagues.
Key Responsibilities\n- \n

- Assess client progress regularly, adapting treatment strategies as necessary to incorporate healthy coping mechanisms and enhance their overall quality of life. \n
- Document session notes and treatment progress accurately within the counselor portal, maintaining detailed records that support ongoing care. \n
You will primarily work with stable, low acuity adults who present a variety of mental health concerns, including anxiety, depression, stress management, and life transitions. Your role will focus on empowering these individuals to develop necessary coping skills while fostering a sense of autonomy and self-efficacy in their daily lives.
Qualifications\n- \n
- A master’s degree in a counseling-related discipline, such as Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology. \n
- Current state-issued mental health counseling license (either LMFT, LPC, LCSW, or equivalent) that allows for independent practice. Please indicate your credentials and the state where you are licensed in your application. \n
- No disciplinary actions reported on your license; candidates with limited or provisional licenses will not be considered. \n
- Exceptional interpersonal skills, empathy, and a genuine understanding of clients’ mental health journeys. \n
- Proficient computer skills, including familiarity with telehealth platforms and electronic health records. \n
- Access to a reliable internet connection and a computer equipped with audio and video capabilities for telehealth sessions. \n
- \n
- Experience in providing virtual counseling services is a plus, demonstrating comfort with technology and remote client engagement. \n
- Familiarity with solution-focused therapy or other evidence-based treatment methods. \n
- Previous experience working with diverse populations or specific demographic groups that align with our client base. \n
- \n
- Attractive annual salary ranging from $115,000 to $130,000, commensurate with experience and clinical hours worked. \n
- Weekly direct deposit to facilitate timely compensation. \n
- A monthly healthcare stipend for full-time employees to support your overall well-being. \n
- Minimal administrative burden, as we streamline paperwork and administrative tasks associated with client management. \n
Joining our network opens doors for personal and professional development. You will receive access to ongoing training resources, mentorship from experienced colleagues, and opportunities to attend workshops and conferences that align with your career goals. As you build your practice within our community, there is potential for leadership roles and specializations based on your interests and the needs of our population.
