Group Fitness Instructor

Job Details Position: Group Fitness Instructor Location: RED BANK, NJ 07701 Position Type: Part Time Salary Range: $25.00 - $30.00 per hour Responsibilities Always be on time for all group fitness classes and adhere to the established dress code. Demonstrate YMCA core character values of honesty, respect, responsibility, and caring in all interactions with employees, members, staff, and others; commit to ongoing professional development. Provide proper and safe instruction of assigned classes. Provide participants with proper safety techniques and a stimulating exercise session. Take attendance and/or keep a class roster. Maintain current and appropriate class format and music. Ensure equipment is stored properly and the room is cleaned and returned to its original setup after each class. Exercise sound judgment regarding member safety & injuries. Follow all emergency procedures. Visually inspect the work area and equipment for safety and risk, report any problems to a supervisor in writing, and complete accident/incident reports for the Regional Wellness Director. Immediately report any unsafe or suspicious activity to the Regional Group Exercise Director or Director on Duty. Assist with cleaning in designated or non‑designated areas, including wiping machines, screens, computers, phones, and sanitizing hands frequently. Wash hands every 30 minutes if possible or use hand sanitizer when washing is not available. Assign to other areas as needed to meet organizational needs (e.g., counting people, directing traffic, assisting with doors, or any other duty requested by the organization). Represent the YMCA in a professional manner and promote a positive, cheerful environment. Attend and participate in all required staff meetings and continuing job training. Complete payroll on the payroll Mobile application on a personal phone by the scheduled deadline each week. Qualifications Must be at least 18 years of age. Current nationally recognized group exercise certification (SCA, ASCM, ACE, AFAA, NSCA, NETA, NASM, AAAI/ISMA, or WITS). Ability to communicate and lead group exercise classes to a diverse group of participants. First Aid, CPR/AED certification within 90 days of hire date. Complete the YMCA of The Jersey Shore New Team Member Orientation. Complete YMCA Child Abuse Prevention Online Training. Complete Blood Borne Pathogen Online Training. Notify the Healthy Living Director within 60 days before first‑aid, CPR/AED expiration date. The YMCA provides First Aid, CPR/AED recertification classes. #J-18808-Ljbffr
