Requirements U.S. citizenship Valid driver's license Ability to carry and use a firearm; firearm proficiency is mandatory Be at least 21 years old at application and under 37 at conditional offer, unless prior federal law enforcement service qualifies for age exceptions. Obtain and maintain a Top Secret Clearance Visual acuity of no worse than 20/100 binocular, corrected to 20/20 in each eye Hearing loss not exceeding 25 decibels in each ear at specified frequencies Pass a drug test prior to appointment and undergo random drug testing during employment Complete 13 weeks of training at FLETC, Glynco, GA, and 18 weeks at the James J.
