Senior Product Designer

Sr Technical UX Designer II, XR Location: Seattle, WA (hybrid schedule) Work Location: Based out of our Seattle office, but can work remotely on Mondays. Onsite Tuesdays–Fridays. Reports to: Director of Product Design, AR/VR Your Impact We're hiring a senior XR UX designer who can build in Unity and thinks in systems. You'll design the experience as a system—mapping the full customer journey across moments, touchpoints, and handoffs, and making sure the XR experience stays consistent, learnable, and reliable end‑to‑end. What You'll Do Design experience architecture and CX systems at a systems level. Build high‑fidelity Unity experiences (prototype‑plus) with enough structure and fidelity to inform implementation and sometimes accelerate production. Leverage AI‑assisted coding tools (Cursor or similar) to move faster in Unity while maintaining code quality. Build on our design system in Unity, extend semantic tokens and component contracts into Unity. Create reusable components/prefabs and interaction templates to reduce rework and increase consistency. Translate experience intent into real‑time behavior (state models, input handling, spatial layout rules, navigation, feedback, error states). Define how XR experiences are organized and understood—concepts, labels, navigation models, system states, mental models. Plan the research loop: define study goals and hypotheses, design tasks and protocols, run sessions, synthesize findings, iterate quickly. Partner closely with engineering for shipped implementation, aligning on constraints and handoffs. Communicate clearly and drive alignment—present prototypes, learnings, and system decisions with crisp rationale. What You Bring 8+ years in product/UX design, including leading major initiatives from discovery through implementation. Proven experience designing XR interactions end‑to‑end (spatial UI/3D UI patterns, comfort, ergonomics, accessibility). Strong hands‑on Unity experience, solid C# proficiency, and experience with architecture patterns, debugging, and performance trade‑offs. Practical experience using AI coding assistants in Unity (Cursor or similar), with judgment to evaluate and refactor code. Proven ability to drive experience architecture, end‑to‑end journey thinking, scalable interaction models, and reliable recovery/edge‑case design. Experience working with design systems and semantic structure (tokens, states, variants, usage rules) and mapping design intent into runtime component behavior. Ability to align product, engineering, and research through prototypes, evidence, and clear trade‑offs without formal authority. Excellent communication skills—explaining decisions clearly to diverse audiences. Highly skilled in modern design tools (Figma) and excited to explore emerging design and AI prototyping technologies. Portfolio showcasing senior systems‑level UX work and Unity‑based interaction/prototyping. Degree in Interaction Design, HCI, or related field (or equivalent practical experience). Compensation Base Pay Range: $143,250–$229,200 USD Base pay is determined by function, experience, and location. Other compensation includes bonus and stock awards.
