Salary and Pay Salary scale shown is the minimum pay rate. The maximum pay rate, including the highest longevity pay, is applicable only after 20 years of service. Job Summary This is routine custodial and minor repair maintenance work while cleaning, caring for, and maintaining City facilities and buildings. Regular Work Schedule Monday – Friday 4:30 pm – 1:00 am. Responsibilities Performs assigned duties and tasks independently as scheduled or directed, following established cleaning methods and standards without direct supervision. Deals tactfully and courteously with the public, coworkers, and other City employees, occasionally in difficult customer‑service situations. Cleans, disinfects, and deodorizes restroom floors, toilets, urinals, walls, partitions, mirrors, fixtures and showers; deodorizes floor drains as required; checks and refills soap, paper towel and toilet paper dispensers and restocks supplies. Vacuums carpets in meeting rooms, offices, hallways and council chambers. Spot‑cleans where necessary. Shampoos carpets according to maintenance schedule and vacuums upholstered furniture as required. Qualifications High School Diploma or equivalent. At least one (1) year of professional custodial work. A valid driver’s license without impending loss at the time of appointment. Required Licenses and Other Requirements Must be able to pass a background check, including reference checks. This position will require fingerprinting and completion of the CJIS (Criminal Justice Information Services) Security Certification Test to be allowed to view sensitive information and have unescorted access while at the Police Department (per Washington State Patrol ACCESS unit).
