Position Overview A warm and welcoming private family in Somerset County, New Jersey, is seeking an experienced, hands-on Executive Housekeeper to oversee the cleanliness, organization, and presentation of their primary residence and additional family-used buildings on the property. The household includes four children, two dogs, and a cat. This is an active, lived-in home requiring someone who takes pride in maintaining exceptional standards while anticipating the family's needs. The ideal candidate will be proactive, highly organized, discreet, and comfortable balancing hands-on housekeeping with staff supervision. Responsibilities include managing one additional full-time household employee, coordinating outside cleaning teams, overseeing household inventory, caring for fine furnishings and linens, and assisting with entertaining and special events. This is an excellent long-term opportunity for a professional who enjoys taking ownership of a household and working collaboratively with an Estate Manager/Family Concierge and other property staff. Key Responsibilities Maintain the cleanliness, organization, presentation, and readiness of the primary residence and family-used buildings. Perform daily housekeeping, deep cleaning, household resets, and seasonal cleaning as needed. Supervise one full-time household employee and coordinate third-party cleaning teams, ensuring consistent quality and standards. Manage family laundry, ironing, steaming, dry cleaning, fine linens, wardrobes, and delicate household items. Maintain bedrooms, bathrooms, closets, children's spaces, guest rooms, and storage areas. Oversee groceries, pantry organization, household supplies, pet essentials, and routine shopping. Assist with light food preparation and maintain a clean, organized kitchen. Prepare table settings for family meals, dinners, holidays, and special occasions, including proper care of china, silver, glassware, and linens. Assist with entertaining, dinner service, guests, and household events as needed. Maintain outdoor furniture and entertaining areas, coordinating with property staff on exterior presentation and upkeep. Receive deliveries, coordinate with approved vendors, identify household maintenance needs, and ensure follow-through. Collaborate with the Estate Manager/Family Concierge, farmhand, household staff, and outside service providers. Maintain exceptional discretion and confidentiality at all times. Qualifications Professional housekeeping experience in a high-end private residence or estate. Prior experience supervising household staff or coordinating cleaning teams strongly preferred. Knowledge of fine furnishings, specialty finishes, delicate fabrics, linens, china, silver, and glassware. Experience with household entertaining, table settings, and dinner service preferred. Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to anticipate household needs. Comfortable working independently while collaborating with a larger household and property team.
