Crouch Staffing Solutions is seeking an experienced Paint Shop Supervisor for a reputable manufacturing company in the north Temple, TX area. This position is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the paint and surface preparation department, ensuring structural steel components are properly prepared, coated, and finished according to quality standards, production schedules, and customer specifications. The ideal candidate will provide hands-on leadership, maintain workflow efficiency, support safety initiatives, and ensure high-quality production output in a fast-paced industrial environment.

• Supervise daily operations within the paint and surface preparation department, including blasting, cleaning, grinding, and coating activities
• Plan, prioritize, and assign work to align with production schedules and shipping deadlines
• Ensure proper surface preparation prior to coating applications
• Oversee application of primers, intermediate coats, and finish coatings
• Verify coatings meet required thickness, adhesion, and quality standards
• Monitor department productivity and adjust workflow as needed to maintain efficiency
• Coordinate with production, welding, and shipping departments to support plant operations
• Troubleshoot coating defects and implement corrective actions when necessary
• Maintain accurate production, coating usage, and quality documentation
• Ensure proper maintenance and operation of paint equipment, blast equipment, and spray systems
• Train, coach, and support department employees to improve performance and consistency
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment

• Enforce all workplace safety policies, OSHA regulations, and environmental requirements
• Ensure proper use of PPE, respirators, and protective equipment
• Monitor safe handling and storage of coatings, solvents, and hazardous materials
• Ensure compliance with ventilation, containment, and waste disposal standards
• Promote a strong safety culture and lead by example
• Report and address safety concerns, incidents, or near misses immediately

• High school diploma or equivalent required
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in industrial painting, coating, or surface treatment
• Prior supervisory or lead experience preferred
• Strong knowledge of surface preparation methods including blasting, cleaning, and grinding
• Experience with industrial coatings and spray application systems (airless, conventional, etc.)
• Ability to read and interpret work orders, coating specifications, and production schedules
• Knowledge of coating inspection methods including DFT measurements and adhesion testing
• Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills
• Ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment and meet production deadlines
