We are a small family owned bodega and produce market in North Beach SF and we are looking for a responsible and detail oriented candidate to serve as a cashier/inventory associate. In this role you serve customers, keep the store tidy, assist in ordering and keeping track of grocery inventory, and make a once weekly run to wholesale suppliers. We will provide paid training to ensure you are familiar with our inventory and ordering processes.

Shifts are typically from 8am-2pm or 2pm-8pm.

Full time may be available and preferred.

Responsibilities

As a cashier you will:

Greet customers, ring up purchases accurately, and assist with questions or concerns

Handle credit/debit and cash transactions with correct change

Check ID for alcohol purchases

Count the register and ensure accurate totals

Perform light cleaning tasks and restocking duties to keep the store neatand tidy

As an inventory associate you will:

Walk the store, coolers, and back stock to spot what’s running low

Place orders with distributors using order guides, app, text, or phone depending on the supplier

Learn and maintain par levels for regular items so nothing runs out

Receive deliveries, check them against the order, and flag shorts or wrong items

Once a week you will take the company van on trips to wholesaler suppliers where

you will:

Shop for items on your list

Load, transport, and unload merchandise

Restock and organize deliveries upon return

Requirements:

Reliable and punctual

Basic math and comfort handling cash

Comfortable ordering by phone, text, and vendor apps

This is an active job and you will need to be able to lift up to 50 lbs repeatedly

Valid driver’s license and clean driving record

Must be 21+

Preferred:

Prior retail experience in grocery store

Experience driving in the city

Pay dependent on experience
