What this looks like: 2nd shift: Monday - Friday 2:15 pm - 10:15 pm 2nd shift starting pay: $26.75/hour (+ 8% shift premium) We don’t lead our industry - our people do. As a Welder 3 at Caterpillar, you will: Uses various tools provided in the work area to perform welding duties including but not limited to manual MIG Welding Repair defective welds utilizing carbon air arc process, grinders, etc. Inspect own work including quality checks utilizing weld and attribute gages and other measuring tools. Use lifting devices to move heavy components of weights of more than 35 lbs. Complete routine maintenance (wire change, tip/nozzle change) in all qualified workstations. Rotate to various positions within the Job Function area to perform related activities. Follow documented procedures, standard work, routings, and blueprints to perform safe and defect-free operations Follow and utilizes CPS principles of 5S, Continuous Improvement Idea Reporting, Waste Elimination, and Standard Work Responsible for process and final inspections Function as part of a team, willing to be multi-trained and maintain a safe, clean, and orderly work area. Physical Requirements (with or without reasonable accommodation): Ability to sit or stand for prolonged periods Ability to perform repetitive operations Ability to lift up to 35 lbs. Basic Requirements: At least one year of welding experience At least one year of carbon air arc experience Top Candidates will also have: Must be able to pass 2F fillet weld, 4F fillet weld (overhead) & 2G groove weld test. Summary Pay Range: $26.75 - $33.45 Compensation and benefits offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, job level, market location, job-related knowledge, skills, individual performance and experience.
