Commercial Relationship Manager

General Function Responsible for profitable business development and monitoring quality of a portfolio of companies with annual gross sales of at least $10 million, focusing on higher revenue customers. Leads and coordinates with One Bank Partners to implement relationship strategy, while applying strong credit, commercial product, and financial statement analysis knowledge to offer banking solutions (loans, treasury management, capital markets). Engages in public debt issuance and community activities, ensures risk compliance, and drives positive customer experience. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Identify and develop profitable new client relationships using centers of influence, existing clients, and referral sources. Develop and implement a business plan to achieve financial goals and qualitative measures. Partner with internal teams to deepen existing relationships and acquire new prospects. Participate in community and industry forums, conferences, and meetings to expand networks and stay informed on market trends. Collaborate with product partners (Treasury Management, Capital Markets, Wealth Management, etc.) to create tailored relationship strategies for each client or prospect. Manage customer relationships to maximize bank opportunities while balancing risk and customer needs. Meet regularly with customers to strengthen the trusted‑advisor relationship and ensure business needs are met. Use consultative selling skills, the commercial playbook, and call‑reporting plans to enhance the client experience. Utilize the bank’s CRM system for activity tracking, call reports, and pipeline management. Analyze financial information to determine appropriate credit requests. Continuously monitor customer financial performance, condition, and industry trends to maintain acceptable credit exposure and pricing. Collaborate with Portfolio Managers and Credit Officers on credit requests and adhere to portfolio‑management guidelines (e.g., delinquencies, documentation, financial‑statement monitoring, matured loans). Supervisory responsibilities: none. Provides guidance to Commercial RM I & II. Minimum Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Business (Business Administration, Finance, Accounting) or equivalent work experience. Minimum of 6 years of Commercial Banking experience, at least 5 of which involve sales. Formal commercial credit training or equivalent credit experience; underwriting experience preferred. Proven track record of partnering with investment bankers to provide strategic and capital‑market advice. Ability to build new and existing client business, translating to increased revenue and delivering a positive client experience. Strong business acumen, including detailed financial‑statement analysis and understanding of accounting principles. Comprehensive knowledge of Commercial Banking, Treasury Management, and alternative lending and financing options. Skill to assess client needs, profitability drivers, and life‑cycle financial solutions. Effective communication skills—clear, persuasive, and tailored to the audience, with experience in face‑to‑face negotiations. Strong internal partnership building skills to deliver holistic solutions. Demonstrated ability to identify business issues, develop relevant options, and achieve desired outcomes. Proficient in Microsoft Office; familiarity with prospecting and CRM tools preferred. Willingness to travel regionally and locally. Compensation and Benefits Commercial Relationship Manager Total Base Pay Range: $121,900.00 – $262,100.00 USD annually. The base salary reflects the role’s pay grade and can vary based on role, skills, experience, education, and location.
