Job Opportunity: Adult Cardiac Surgeon

Our organization is on the lookout for a board-certified or board-eligible Adult Cardiac Surgeon to enhance our expanding academic cardiac surgery program. Key Responsibilities:

• Perform a comprehensive range of adult cardiac surgical procedures, including:
• Coronary revascularization
• Management of valvular diseases
• Aortic pathology interventions
• Complex cardiac surgical care
• Contribute actively to the advancement of the Cardiac Surgery program while ensuring high-quality, patient-centered care.
• Engage in teaching, quality initiatives, and clinical collaboration as part of an academic appointment at our institution, with rank based on experience.

Practice Highlights:

• Established and growing cardiac surgery referral network
• Strong support from cardiology and cardiac anesthesia teams
• Diverse mix of elective and urgent cardiac surgery cases
• Comprehensive adult cardiac surgery services, including:
• Coronary artery bypass grafting
• Valve repair and replacement
• Aortic surgery
• Transcatheter aortic valve replacements (TAVRs)
• Opportunities for involvement in program development, quality improvement, and clinical research
• Access to state-of-the-art operating rooms and advanced perioperative technology
• Modern surgical suite with a system-wide electronic medical record (EMR)
• Teaching opportunities with residents, medical students, and advanced practice providers

Qualifications:

• MD/DO or equivalent degree with board certification or eligibility in Adult Cardiac Surgery
• A minimum of 2 years of clinical experience following fellowship training
• Research experience and teaching capabilities suitable for an academic appointment as Assistant or Associate Professor
• Demonstrated leadership qualities are highly regarded
• Excellent communication skills with a collaborative, multidisciplinary approach to patient care
• Proven experience in adult cardiac surgical procedures
• Ability to provide a current operative case log
• Capacity to teach, mentor, and work alongside medical students, residents, surgery fellows, and other healthcare professionals
• Eligibility for academic appointment and medical licensure in New York State
